The SD W is probably one of the best domestically (tied with SF and W NY-The Court).
Maldives is like 30+hours of travel time for us; I would rather go to Bora Bora.

both hotel & residences.
The only way I'd even think about living there was if they built the Expo line (red->expo->Culver City) so I could take the subway to work.

true, but they dont have a W on bora bora, or anywhere on the tahitian islands.
They do however have a st regis, which is my personal favorite starwood hotel:D

Everyone should know and love The W. That place is so in baller. I stayed at the one in Times Square as well...god damn goooddd ddaammmnn.
And my girlfriend won't stop talking about that Maldives one, definitely need to find a way out there :crazy:

Can't go wrong with either St Regis or W. I've been using the Starowwod AMEX the last couple of years and it's been great accumulating and using the points for free rooms. No black out dates and some cool options (cash + points). I highly recommend it.
Best St Regis I've been to is the Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai. The most amazing lounge ever..... |

Well, honestly, some of the W's are hit-and-miss. I still would rather stay anywhere in Tahiti than taking the Maldives trip. Plus, I can still find Cash&Points dates for the Tahiti hotels; that's one of the best steals ever.
Last time I stayed at the W San Diego was last year when DT played down there; I really didn't enjoy the room alas: I just crashed there after the club closed, napped, then got up to see Bloc Party.
If someone could coordinate a weekend in late September/early October, we would have a great time. |
