I think it was criminal, especially considering the door was forced. And don't think it was insurance fraud. I think What people think about Stereo's operations, debts etc... is not usually the case or as one says it is. I don't and like was said, think the public will ever really know. Look forward to hearing about the fire report or whatever it is.
This is all as far as I heard from owner/manager as well as saw and think.:) |

Passed by the front of Stereo too, outside structure looks pretty intact. Some of the doors have been replaced with wood, and like Alex said, there are already staff on site and people cleaning up whatever mess is inside.
The outdoor terrace is completely untouched, based off what Marc said, I'm assuming Stereobar is untouched too since he mentioned it would probably be open this weekend. |

i was just saying with respect to the fire (not the clean-up) rather than stating what you specifically heard from the owner/manager you mainly posted your opinions and thoughts.

I just talked to Scotty. The sound system is fine. The damage is mostly in the back near the smoking area. They'll be closed this weekend and hope to be open next weekend, doing the repairs during the week. The bar and the terracce will most likely be open if they get the ok re: the electrical system.

Hey man,
Nice partying with you too. I actually came back to party on the Terrace till it closed. Got back from Beachclub at 9:30pm and proceeded to drink in front of Stereo.
Good times.
You forgot though, I am flying out to Chicago tomorrow early afternoon and will be in the States till end July. :)

By the way, for those of you who actually think Stereo management did this to themselves, I highly doubt it. Of course it's not impossible, but if you know the people that run Stereo, including many of the resident DJs, you'd know that they aren't the type of people to do that type of thing.
I was just talking to JF about the upcoming parties I was going to miss because I was out of town and watched Marlene work the Terrace since 1pm - 11:30pm on Tuesday.... not exactly people that would want the place shut down.
For the record I am not a Stereo staff member. |
