Yea, that night was brutal. I left early myself missing the majority of my favourite dj's set in the main room to attempt to get upstairs to the skybar....by the time I got up there after waiting patiently for at least 45-60 mins it was a disaster....one of the worst crowds i've been in for sure and lawler was playing the exact same tunes he did downstairs...which were the exact same tunes he played in the exact same order in the space opening set...it was brutal...left early. Such a disappointment....I totally feel your pain.
Boat parties out on the lake in Toronto though....such an awesome party experience. There isn't much variance between them either....they're pretty consistently awesome. You should definately come back for S.O.S. If the Demi boat party last year was any indication of what's to come this year....it will be a super fun day. |

| one thing everyone learns quickly going to toronto is to never go to guvt on a long weekend.. the cramming is in fact sickening unless your in koolhaus |

..and, if you are going to go to the Guv on a long weekend, wait until 3-4am before showing up. The peak-time crowd on a long weekend is brutal.
Either way, the guv't sucks, I live in the city and it's pretty rare that I'll go there, even if my favorite DJ's are playing.
I'd say that 'long weekend crowds' in /ANY/ city are worse than they are on normal weekends. People who party regularly either don't do drugs, or don't do as many / know how to handle them without turning into a mess. For long weekends or things like Halloween, NYE, etc, it's like amateur hour at the gong show for any club/party, especially ones being held in mainstream venues. |

Me and vermz had a in blast
First thanks a lot to Nick pilon who chocked and had us wait until 5pm to leave the island... took us an hour and a half on the 20 to get off the island because of in one lane crap on the highway
Finally got to TO... but we were joking about some random stuff and missed completely the exit... went 60km west... called a friend and she told us we were wayyyyyyy too far... lol... we drove back and got to the guv
Thank god we were on the guestlist.... no cover... no wait... thanks a lot :)
We went straight upstairs to chat with some friends and decided to head back to the main...
Got a table right bhind lawler... but didnt stay for a long since he didnt want anybody behind him... so they moved us to the big VIP next to the booth on stage
The fact that we were on the stage drinking like maniacs kinda helped us...
We were very chill and enjoyed the music until some dumass came to Vermz and asked him wtf he was doing in the Vip... he answered in those kind words
" WTF who the are you ESTI CALISS DE TABARNAK ... T QUI TOI... DECOLISS ... "
We almost got in a fight with the 15 guys in their own VIP... but looked so pissed off that they changed their minds and apologized... funniest moment of the night
Upstairs was a freakin mess... obivously
I came to the bar and gave 100$ straight up to the barmaid and told her... " ok from now on this is my bar ... the montreal bar "
The girl looked at me like i was a freak and hurried to give me water bottles + tons of orange juice to mix with the brown rhum we had bought from downstairs
At this moment me and vermz had already drank a 26onz of rhum on our own... so we were very allstar mode and we had a second bottle of rhum put in water bottles to walk around with it... i think we drank it all... the last drinks were given to some Mtl peeps... cuz i was wayyyyyyy too wasted after almost 20 onz of rhum by myself :s hahaha
The party was off the hook... i didnt find the people that pushy... as soon as we came in... the vibe was all good... lots of people apologizing for being brutal..
I guess it depends a lot on how you go in the party... if at first you have in mind that everyone will be pushing around and steppin on your feet... the way you will react wont help the situation and at some point in the night people wont give a funk anymore...
Happens a lot everywhere in Montreal
Its 4, 5 or 6 in the morning... people are on drugs or super drunk... cant expect a miracle
Getting touched by man is a different story tho... thats very sad
And being pusehd by bouncers aint cool either ...
But all in al.. for us was a sick night and we will be back hopefully soon enough
5 hour drive aint that bad at all

my last GUV rampage was a similar drunken rampage, but it started at the hotel several hours earlier!!!

Glad you had an amazing time in Toronto. Some time last year or longer you were booked to play our Comfort Zone, but pulled a 'no show' because of some incident that happened to you in Mexico.
Just curious if you'll ever play at Comfort Zone or not? |

That day was one of the worst of my life...
Got drugged in Mexico right before taking the plane... pucked in the middle of the airport and missed 2 flights... AND my gig in To
I was soo happy to be able to play there...
I'd love to be invited again... but i was getting booked trought a promoter from here and don't really know who to ask to get booked again

I'm like... WTF is going on...
Vermz tells me what happened... we were very friendly... no need to give us
Those guys had bought 3 bottles of grey goose and a dozen beers to get that Vip.. for like 30 people
We had bought 2 bottles of rhum for 2 and were there to have a good time..
No way some small punk... around 5 feet tall... was gonna ruine our night
I think they all apologized one after the other for about 20 minutes hahaha |
