2008 Dance Audition Information
Date: Sunday July 27TH, 2008
Location: Air Canada Centre, 40 Bay St., Enter Through Gate 1
Registration: 9:00-10:00 a.m., Gate 1
Auditions Begin at 10:00 a.m.
Be Prepared to stay as long as necessary. Final dance auditions and interviews will take place in the afternoon.
What We're Looking For:
# Female Dancers – 18 and older (must be 18 by day of the audition). We strongly encourage ages 22-30 to come out and audition!!
# Dancers must have the ability to show an extreme level of enthusiasm, confidence, and poise.
# Dancers must be physically fit and have strong athletic skills and endurance.
# Dancers must be dedicated, professional, hard working and strong team players.
# Minimum 2 years dance/performance experience in Jazz and Hip Hop.
# 14-16 team members.
# There is no minimum or maximum height requirements.

Please download and complete the following Audition Application and Waiver. Please bring the completed forms with you to your audition. You must also provide a resume and a current non-returnable 5x7 or 8x10 headshot.

What To Expect:
Dancers will be taught a basic jazz routine combined with hip hop. All participants who advance will be asked to perform the routine in small groups. Music will be provided. A number of cuts will be made throughout the audition. The audition is closed, spectators will not be permitted.
Judging:
Judges will focus on enthusiasm, energy, dance ability, figure, personal appearance, personality, poise and showmanship.
What To Wear:
# An attractive two-piece dance outfit (Half top and fitted shorts. Any style and colour) with flesh-coloured nylons.
# Mid-area, legs and arms must be exposed.
# No baggy clothing or street wear. No pants, leggings, capri’s or cover ups.
# Full performance make-up and styled hair. Hair must be down, no ponytails.
# Participants may wear any kind of dance shoe, please make sure they have non-marking soles.
What To Bring:
# The completed Audition Application and Waiver. Audition applications and waiver forms will also be available at the audition.
# A resume and a current non-returnable 5x7 or 8x10 headshot. Your headshot will be used for identification purposes only.
# Snacks and plenty of water.
# Make-up and hair products for touch-ups.
Commitment Information:
# Must be available for a mandatory meeting on Tuesday July 29th from 7-10pm, location to be announced.
# Must be available from August 5th to August 11th for mandatory rehearsals, makeovers, costume fittings and photo shoots.
# Mandatory rehearsals – Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7-10 p.m. & some Sunday afternoons. August through end of playoffs.
# Mandatory team meetings.
# Pre-Season games – October.
# 41+ Regular Season Home Games – November to April. Schedule is available in August.
# Public appearances and events.
