thank Thomas Jefferson for lowballing Napoleon, and had the French sell a good portion of the United States (sale known as the Louisiana Purchase) for a very low price.
thank our victory over those Mexicans on the south side to win the Southwest.
thank Sacagawea for helping Lewis and Clark expedition through the northwest.
