Have you gotten less emotional as you've gotten older? (pg. 4)

Reading iammesol's reply, I thought of a possible cause. Do you do any creative work, MrJBJ? I think that musicians, writers and creative people in general do tend to be more emotional... that includes philosophy, reason why I'm asking you this. Most philosophy professors I studied with were really passionate people, even the guy that dealt with "cold" analytic stuff (he is completely nuts, however, making movies with his penis and whatnot... as a matter of fact, he was the only professor I almost saw that was once so sad that he almost started to cry right after class).

Edit: Can I just call you by your first name, B? Typing MrJBJ is kinda annoying :p

I think that part of my personality affects my creative side. Always believed that!

And I think it's a two-way street. Your emotions affect your creative work and your creative work probably does affect your emotions.
iammesol
Correct.

I make music. I haven't been doing it as much as I used to, though, and I think that has something to do with the "dampening" of my emotions. Seems kind of pointless to use an outlet for emotional expression when you have less to express in the first place, right?

:p

w0rd. You can't make music on an empty mind. Very rarely can I go "Okay, I need to work on a track to finish it up" and I actually make progress.

I usually make the best stuff when I'm bored, and then fall into a land of nothing but inspiration.

not really any change.

maybe more rational, or so i think.

Wow im the complete opposite. The older I get the more affects me. When I was young I didnt give a about anything. Now im older and more mature it only seems normal to care more and be affected by emotional things?
