This is my first psy production. Thank god, you can think outside the box when playing with this genre :) I started this project for the psy tranceaddicts united mix :D We'll see! Comments?

Hm the starts feel like Mortal Kombat. This electro distorted bass also emphasizes in this sector. It would work pretty well in a fighting game defintely.
Uh, the melody that kicks at 1:28 is very high compared to the other parts. It's a little disturbing (although you label it as psy, it's still disturbing). The brake atmosphere is nice until that melody kicks in, I really don't like it at all.
Btw the track looks more like some dark prog psy or some kind of merge between.... hm... many styles. Well just that melody.. lower the volume of it and twist it a bit more (but that is a matter of taste).

the melody is to loud, I'm deleting it from the breakdown, but not from the whole track
I was asking myself if this didn't sound to much like a mortal combat soundtrack. That's not really what I want to achieve, so I'm gonna replace that electro bass. |

listening on laptop speakers because my roommate took away my sound interface :(
from what I can tell, kick and bass sound all right, I think the kick could be a little more sine like- you know the psy typical 'zapping' kick.
Then the first melody comes in and hum... I think the sound needs a little more depth. Its a bit too loud and maybe it stands out a little too much. how about cutting the mids of it a bit?
During the breakdown it sounds not too bad in connection with the strings. But as Magadansky said, to be honest: the melody is not good.
maybe it would work to add more notes, like an arpeggio... and then maybe a bit more delay (with 3/4 beat timing).
The driving passage in the last 20 seconds or so was the best part of your track, I think you should expand on this.
I'd like to see this in the Psy mix but first I try to encourage you to improve it a little. Keep it up! :) |
