This party was bull cuz he couldn't read my mind and play the exact 30 tracks I wanted to hear! In the exact order! GOD HE SUCKS!

Ope. Better send him an angry email. His assistant can read it to him out loud while he counts his money.

+1 Those were some damn good shows  . The September '06 party was the last I've seen him :eyes:

The pics look great. Hopefully they keep finding better and better outdoor venues in coming years.

few wrongs and few rights there.

One thing that was right is Armins last hour was > hours 1-3. It was the same formula last year.

Wrong - "He's a producer and DJ Pin Up. Nothing more." That is the worst thing I have ever heard. Armin is in no way, shape, or form a better producer than he is a dj. He only makes good tracks if it's with the help of some other trance producer.

LMFAO! Glad u got to hang out with us at the end. Very entertaining. My fav quote from u when we were guessing Armins Encore.. "He's going to play his remix of Juvenile - Back that ass up!"

This is how it works

If you listen to trance music everyday, follow the scene very closely, go to every electronic music event almost every weekend, and/or spin or produce trance music then ARMIN SUCKED!! He spun the top 30 most overplayed trance songs in the scene, with the exception of 5 or 6 newer songs.

If you don't follow the scene very closely, listen to trance less than 10 hours a week, only go out to the big shows, have the same CD on repeat in your car, and get excited when Deadmau5 - Not Exactly gets played, then ARMIN WAS AMAZING!!!

The party itself was great. Much better than last year. Probably the most fun I've ever had at an outdoor event in NY (except for Tobacco Warehouse). Much more fun than any of the PVD shows in Central Park.

best sets from Armin

armin was not at crobar sept 30 2006 it was actually 2005
in 2006 he was there in oct for back to back nights
but yea the gig in 2005 at crobar is prob the top set from him
i will never forget that night, pacha was not open then, spirit was haveing a hip hop party and basically there was no other club open for edm so everyone and their mother was at crobar line wraped around the block
armin came on and fukin destroyed it, i dunno if you have the armin only set from 2005 but its about 70% of the same songs but thats bacially what it is and its a fukin amazing show
i left that club at like 8am just feeling like "wow i cant go home" lol
roxy, arc, spirit was deff great times as well
i think his best spirit gig was dec 2004 amazing night of trance then his last half hour/45 min he was banging it out with some tech:tongue3

I def agree on the Spirit night when his flight was delayed. He got there and threw down some of the nastiest beats, and Spirit let him play til about 8 am.

Nothing will ever beat the 2 days at Tobacco Warehouse tho....just disgusting....

Mister,

you are getting me mega confused here. Are you sure that was right after Shana?? 100% positive? I am pretty sure I heard "So Strong" because Matt was near me and even asked what it was. I remember cuz he was like 'this sounds so old school...' and i was like yeeeah that's why I love this track blah blah.

Lol i was writing this with little sleep in my system...

What I meant to say was...after uploading all my vids to my computer I fished this one out of the batch and it matches up with the tracklist that Gerard posted. On my computer, the video before is Shana, and the video after is 4Ever... so this one is the ID that sounds a lot like So Strong - In petto dub.

Curse the humid weather in nyc!

edit: probably my favorite opening from armin was when he came on with Synergy - Hello Strings back in early 05/late 04?

that is prolly the best description of the night thus far. I thought armin played *GOOD*. Not TW good, But the best I have seen him play in NYC since the Crobar gig.
I was highly entertained, and agree to the max that this has been the best outdoor party i've been to since TW. The vibe, the set up, the people are what made it for me. I cant even stop thinking about how much fun it was. Truly the best time I have had in YEARS, and probably top 3-5 parties in NYC overall. :D :D Agreed that this tops ALL the PVD gigs that I have seen thus far (but he could prove me wrong in august!!)

Also, southbound is right, Made Definately listened to people and made the correct changes. Props to them for a HUGELY successful party (esp after the lackluster party of last year.) Its incredible what a difference the two years were! :eyes: :tongue2
