It's what you make of it though. Alot of people don't know what they're doing, and they can get burnt oh so hard on this stuff. It's not physically dangerous, but it can be dangerous if you're not mentally prepared, and don't know what to make of it all afterwards. Though I've never seen any of my pretty normal, mentally stable friends get hurt, or psyched up about getting a bad experience. It's part of the charm of the mushroom, imo, IF you know how to handle it :o . |

| I found LSD much more pleasant than mushrooms, personally. |

| I really wish I trusted myself to try mushrooms and other psychedelics, but being a pretty high-strung person with some anxiety problems I don't think it'd be the best idea. Who knows though, friends have been trying to get me to do them for ages, maybe I'll crack. |

Oh, I already know I don't want to / shouldn't, hence why I haven't. I've read up on it a good bit.
I merely meant it might be something I'd like to do eventually. The idea is very appealing to me, I just don't think I'd react very well. |

I think it was just bad luck. I tried them later on in my "career", with friends in a comfortable environment after I had used similar substances in the past and was not too worried. It completely destroyed my ability to maintain cohesive lines of thought, and during the brief moments where I was able to hold a thought, I convinced myself that I would never again be able to think normally. Trying to figure out how I was going to interact with friends/family/those around me with such disorganized thoughts (which I was convinced would be the rest of my life) scared the crap out of me.
Of course everything worked out in the end, but that didn't make the experience any less frightening...
To each their own though. I'm not saying that anyone should or should not do it because of my experience or that there couldn't be benefits from it for some people. |

It's only because I've hunted for mushrooms that I've actually been graced with them. It's hard to find people who want to sell them. Last year I managed to find around 2-300 Psilocybe semilanceata which my and my friends have had enjoying. I can almost smell the season once again  . |

I had about 2 or 3 really bad experiences with mushrooms... Thats it though, i knew it was a bad experience and it wouldnt always happen. So i tried it again and shazzam!
Usually happened because i was too drunk or took too many. |

| I've been in the hell aswell, once. I know how you feel, and yes it can be near impossible to control. The scariest part for me is all the subconscious things being brought to memory. But once you've tried hell once, and afterwards realised that it wasn't that bad, you get less anxious, and are able to let it flow through you. That's what I've experienced atleast. |

I've seen a couple of people have bad experiences on separate occasions, but they were both doing it for the first time and both had some deep seeded going on personally. For me, the only time I started drifting down the wrong path on mushrooms, I got lost in a bathroom and just sat there alone for like an hour wondering if I was going insane. Luckily I snapped out of it and rejoined the party. You just gotta welcome whatever comes during the trip.
Most of the times I've done it I was with good friends I knew well and either out at the beach at night or in a cozy environment. Except at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam... I was so ed up I thought I could swim inside the paintings. ! I want some now!!!! |

That's good to hear. More than likely I'll stay off that path, but knowing others have gone through the same ordeal is somehow comforting. Not that I'm glad other people have had to go through it, but it's good to know people have had similar experiences. |
