so... what'd I miss in the past year or so?

Just curious what I missed, as I totally retired from DJ'ing last August and then dropped off the face of the planet (music-wise) to focus on the day job to such and extent that that many people here in Savannah thought I moved back to Wisconsin (it was just burn out from 2 years as a weekly resident at one place that went downhill after a transfer of ownership). BTW, I'm back at it now: spinning a weekly again but doing downtempo, house, and a bit of 80's/retro-remix style stuff. Also back producing like I've never done before too!

So... what's been going on in the southeast since last August that I should have seen? Marco V (my favorite DJ) been through in that time? Anyone from around here blow up as an up and coming DJ and/or producer?

Help me get back in the loop, people. What'd I miss and what's coming up in the near future? I hope/plan to be up in the ATL in a couple weeks for the Lawrence show, and I'd love to meet up with some of ya'll.

out,
Mitch

Marco V just made a new track with Sander van Doorn called Organic. You missed one of the sickest shows ever with Chloe Harris in a room about the size of a large living room, and that's about all I can really tell you off the top of my head. How you been, Mitch? :)

I just heard about the MV/SVD collab last week, that should be VERY interesting. I know I need to get my azz up to the ATL more often, it's been 4 years now in Georgia, and I've only been in town twice (the second time was a trip to Ikea on Super Bowl Sunday after being in Macon that weekend, which hardly counts since I was only going for something I needed at Ikea).

I'm feeling quite refreshed and rejuvenated after taking some time off though. A little hiatus has always been a boon to me, just as it was for the first 9 months in Savannah before I landed the residency @ Venus for the next 2 years.

Work has been key to that too, changing jobs such that I could refocus my efforts to music again. I was waaaaay too beat to do much of anything after working 10 hour days on a construction site doing electrical work. Thank god for not dying in a chemical spill accident at a plant I was working on that made me get outta that line of work!

Expedit bookcase FTW. This thing is PERFECT for storing your record collection in.

OK, I just realized I'm probably one of the last to actually have a record collection! :D
