Scotiabank Nuit Blanche
October 4, 2008

Requires: Information Ambassadors
Commitment: 12 hours, October 4–5, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

The Information Ambassador provides front line, top calibre customer service creating an exceptional festival experience for all our visitors, performers and suppliers on site.

Requires: Project Volunteers
Commitment: various times / various positions

Scotiabank Nuit Blanche requires many unique and varied volunteers to assist with production logistics of an artwork project that may include but is not limited to: stage managing, project facilitation, liaising, assisting in the set-up/execution of artwork project, audience logistics – i.e. crowd containment and serve as goodwill ambassadors to inform guests about the event as a whole.

Not if you have experience... employers don't give a rats ass about school degrees or volunteer work if you have experience. But hey, if wanna volunteer from the goodness of your heart and being kind... by all means go for it, just don't do it for the resume!

many companies that are socially responsible (give a lot back to the community) will look at volunteer work quite a bit.

At my work, managers are expected to give back to the community in some way; be it charity, volunteer, fundraising, supporting local communities, etc

I can't speak for specific law firms, nor have I began my law program yet...but in going through orientations for the two law programs I'm in, both of them are very keen on volunteer work and giving back to the community (naturally, it's usually through legal work)

Community-based, free art event, backed by a multi-billion dollar profit money making company that offshores its centers of profits to tax heavens to pay less taxes in Canada, those same tax that could be used to fund social and community services.
