I thought about that...but I don't think so. Though I didn't stay for the whole set.

What a great trip to SF! Taking the Bart from the airport to our hotel was so easy and the hotel itself (Triton) was the most unique and fun hotel I've ever been to! We walked around in the area both days we were there and fell in love with the city. The very European atmosphere made me miss Europe even more and dislike LA more :(

When it was time to go clubbing we met up with Piet at his hotel, and because the club people came to pick him up so late I missed Taj's set, which bummed me out. Dave Ralph was already playing and I don't know what to say about his set because there were a few songs I liked but also several songs that made me go :wtf: I was definitely happy when Piet got on the decks and as always, he didn't disappoint me. His set was pretty hard and a bit different from what I'm used to hearing from him but in a good way of course! A few more tracks to add to the playlist: Jochen Miller - Lost Connection, Marco V & SvD - Organic, Life Less Ordinary, And Then, Airwave and a new Rank 1 song that doesn't have a name yet. Piet played all the way 'til 4am and one of the staff guys said the club hasn't stayed open that late on a Friday in a while! Piet rocks! :D

Btw, I have to tell you guys something quite serious....I loooooove SF TAs! :happy2: I met several of you at Ruby Skye and End Up: djThomasPhan, 2tall, blakh0rse, Blurr, Irving Granados, tybo, T dizzle (Tommy)? and last but not least, Taj, and all of you were soooo nice and genuine (I hope I didn't forget anyone)! And it was great seeing my boys Matt and Gilbert! :gsmile: I think I also saw a few more TAs from a distance but didn't get a chance to say hi. Hopefully next time because I'll definitely come back to SF!

P.S. I'm proud to say that despite being a senior citizen, I made it to End Up to party for a little while :toothless What a great afterhours club! Ruby Skye wasn't bad either! Both had perfectly mixed crowds nice atmospheres.

Actually I think you are right. I was in the very back of the room and couldn't really make out the deejay but I thought it was towards the opening of Rank 1's set because I swore there was a transition with sound or maybe a track stopped. Pretty faded to tell also.

Too bad we missed ya, technofriik. Next time you come up, we'll be there. Otherwise, catch you in SoCal next time!

A shame we didn't have the energy to stay at End Up longer and party with you. I tried to find you when we were leaving but you were MIA.

I didn't even notice you were faded! Looking forward to seeing your pics :D I wish I could visit SF every month! While in SF, I kept wondering how people can afford to live there. For example the servers and busboys at cheap diners and cashiers at places like Walgreens - how do they pay their rent??

As a frequent visitor to SF, i wonder this as well....I can see how many of the lower wage earners could live in a more affordable city where they can take BART to work and eliminate a major chunk of where income might have to go. Its also way conveninet...i wonder if LA had a trans. system like sf if it would be used? I didnt even know there was a rail service in LA until a few years ago.

Well, from what I've seen if you work at a place like McDonalds in the city you START at $10+ an hour. I've seen fast food joints advertise this in their windows in the past. And this was years ago. Get a place with a bunch of roomies where it's about surviving, and it's possible. When I first moved to SF in 99, within a couple months we had 5 peeps living in a one bedroom. Talk about lack of privacy, lol. It was like that mainly because a few of us just got jobs here from other places or were just convinced to move and see what happens (like me, I moved from Florida)...and once we got on our feet we moved out.

I know someone who used to work at a little org here selling some things and signing up peeps for classes over the phone. simple, simple job. She started at $15.50/hour.

Place I'm at now (mainly because being cheap is important so I can go to LA as much as possible), I am getting it SUPER CHEAPER (nearly half of the cheapest place I've ever had when I lived in the city before) ... but I have to sleep on a futon (which is hella comfy) in the living room. Thankfully, my roomies are totally awesome and respectful and basically see it as my room once it gets into the late evening and if I feel like crashing early, they have no issues. So it's almost like my own room, except when they ened to go through to to the kitchen lol. When someone does need the living room at night, I sleep on a different futon (that's never used) one person has setup in their room...so no one is ever in any ones way.

It's not the most suitable living scenario, but it works for me considering my goals/plan for the future...
