FREE Slurpees at 7-11 on 7/11

Slurpees are my favourite summertime drink. It's the A/C I don't have in my miata when I'm driving.
I thank the heavenly gads who brought forth this chilled nectar before thee. As a matter of fact, you can thank a Czech (w00t!), Omar Knedlik who invented it.
Every July 11th (7/11), 7-Eleven offers free 7.11 oz Slurpees all across Canada. Just head over to any 7-Eleven on July 11th and you’ll find your favourite frozen drink being handed out for free!
AJ's tips for a perfect Slurpee;
- I hate the the Slurpuccino, it sucks, it's gross, don't even bother.
- If you get a brainfreeze, put your tongue against the roof of your mouth. This usually works to get rid of it.
- Always check the runniness before you start pouring.
- There's a lot of carbonation, and you notice your slurpee settles at times. When getting a Pepsi/Coke Slurpee.. Mix a little cola from the Big Gup stand in, and mix it. You'll keep the carbonation without the fluff.
- At the Canadian Tire Gas at Dixie and Eglinton - They have a slushee/ice cream machines where you can combine soft serve ice cream (custard for you Barb and other Americans) and slush for a HEAVENLY combo!
- Vodka goes with ANY Slurpee ('except that slurpaccino sh!t). My fave is tequila with the lime flavour slurpee.
- If you drink a lot of the blue raspberry flavour, your sh!t will be green in the morning. |

Man, businesses are going crazy with these free days. I think they realised how powerful the internet is in promoting these events, and getting people into their stores.
Its basically free marketing. Well except the cost of the slurpy them selves. But common, how much can frozen water, sugar and a straw cost? |
