My cat R.I.P. 1989-2008

I got the news that my family cat Ketsel back in Montreal died. Since I moved I don't have any pictures unfortunately - I'm trying to scan a couple I found from 1992.
She was an orange shorthair tabby, very cute, very affectionate, she was the most outgoing of the many cats born under a dismantled fence near our house. She adopted us as much as we adopted her.
She was talkative and frisky but still gentle. Quite a character. Her motto was, "The chase is better than the catch." When she wasn't ripping papers to shreds or pouncing on anything that moved, she'd be relaxing on a bed or sunning outside, or prowling about at night outside. No one will ever know where she went or what she saw on those long night ramblings.
Ketsel had a way with people that made you feel as if she was human too. She learned the value of eye contact early on, and tapped you on the elbow to get your attention if she wanted to ask for something.
She didn't really slow down until a year ago, when she was coming down with complications of skin cancer. Ketsel was within 8 months of turning 20. This was the cat I grew up with, saw me through some hard times. |

As I understand it that's a fairly good life for a cat, so to that. |

| losing a pet sucks but nearly 20 years is more than double what some people get to enjoy, so be glad for the time you had :) |

20 years is really good for a cat. I've adopted my sisters cat after she moved to Australia (why in gods green earth would anyone do that :wtf: ) and he is about 15. I've been expecting him to die for the last year.. but he is a bastardly farm cat who just keeps on trucking.
of course it is lies about the aussies. :kisses: |

aye. My auntie had 1 dog who lived to 15 but most of them died aged 7-10 and it's way too short in comparison. |

you!.
P.S - my favourite doggie who has been my best mate for many years and probably her only one since she was kicked out of her old home and dosen't have many fans here in the new one. Has developed a tuama and there isin't a whole lot that can be done to help her in my financial status atm.. I'm afraid i am left with only one simple anwser to just make her remaining time worthwhile. :(
Sorry to hear about your loss. |
