Man, 370!?!?! I can't even break out my driver yet too difficult to hit for me - I can hit my 3 Wood like 200 yards - 220 downhill but that's as low in the woods dept as I go. Also I suppose it matters somewhat what you use, I use the clubs for the most part that came with my $170 (after taxes, 2006 models) 17-piece set by RAM. You're probably hitting a Burner or s/t insane - if not kudos to ya!
Maybe the Maxim Model Caddy will be able to give me some pointers? :stongue: :p ;)

lol.. they might give you some pointers on how to do the mailman properly :happy2:

if you lived in the waterloo region or london i would be able to help you out. i can guarantee a 5-10 stroke average drop over a full season up to a 10-15 handicap level.

i just picked up golf last year. Pretty impressed with how far i'm come after not playing 'that' much. Went from hitting like 120 my first couple times out hardly being able to get the ball off the ground. And last weekend i cracked 90's for my first time with 97, and my best drive was 270yrds perfectly straight on a 400yrd par 4. Still got a lot to learn, but am enjoying the progress.

lol, well trust me. I had some pretty dismal 'i want to quit golf moments' i remember last year i think i shot 130 when i just didn't know what i was doing and i was basically tapping the ball across the lawn every shot. it was quite pathetic. Just recently i've been enjoying golf a lot more as i can approach the ball with the confidence i'll make the shot i'm aiming for. My driver and hybrid are now my fav clubs, i've been hitting awesome with both of them, so i've really been liking par 5's lately as i usually put myself in par contention. One of the things that worked the most for me was tightening up on my grip on the clubs. i think that was a big reason for lots of driver mis in the past.

I used to be a member at Valley Ridge back when it had 27 holes. now to golf down there you need to drop 100 on the round. Edmonton is so much cheeper. (plus a load of courses let you play in jeans :haha: )

haha...very nice!

Yeah, I was a sponsored member back in the day because I had quite a few friends who had memberships!

So for $500/year I could golf as much as I wanted! I loved that course.

They started out with 27 holes when I first became a member and then completed one of the courses for a total of 36.

It was great because they had a Links style course and a Ridge style course which kept everything a lot of fun!

I definitely need to go back and play there next time i'm in Calgary.

a lot of it is confidence. golf is a big mind game. if you dont think you can hit that little white ball, you wont. another thing to avoid a high score is getting into a slump. if you have one bad hole, it doesnt mean the round is over. take the next hole as a fresh start.

i highly recommend hybrids as well. when i worked at golftown, it was so easy to show customers the benefits of them. by taking out a 3 and maybe a 4 iron, one can reduce a couple shots a round. i took out my 5 wood and put in a 2 hybrid and its allowed me to have more shot options.
