CamelSpace vs. Sugar Bytes Effectrix

I see that a lot of you use and love CamelSpace. Have any of you tried out or purchased Sugar Bytes Effectrix? They seem to have quite a bit of overlap in terms of the effects that they can create, but I'd like to know which ones you prefer, particularly for vocal effects, before I decide which one to buy.

And, yes, I'm going to download both demos this evening, but it helps to get the perspectives of people who have already spent some time with both. ;) Also, I'll be using it primarily with Sonar 7, so if any of you have used either of these in Sonar, I'd be very interested in knowing if there are any issues, especially with Effectrix, given its short track record.

bought it last week, and totally satisfied with effectrix. It's rock-solid too, as it was apparently tailor-made for live use. I think you willl freak out using it. It's just like having aphex twin or squarepusher straight out of the box, with a spot-on timing and controllable modulation. You can SCRATCH audio signals in Real-time. Something that Digidesign's Transfuser can't (and it's twice the price, or even more, as usual with Digi) Honestly I think it's the best purchase I have done in months or even years.

I bought Effectrix, I think it is revolutionary and sounds great. Personally I don't like the sound of camelspace that much. I don't know why, to me the filter sounds cheap and the effects built in just aren't that great. I also use Dblue Glitch for effects. Sometimes I will even just highlight one effect to use by itself. The only thing I like about the Camel stuff is that you can modulate the volume, but, for that I could just automate in the sequencer. :P

CamelSpace has been indespensable for me since i first bought it over a year ago.

i have yet to hear much about this other piece of software, but if it has similar features, i may grab a demo and check it out. if you have not yet PURCHASED camel space, you should do so.

Lucidity i agree i personally think a lot of the effects on camel space sound like ass. The filters are horrible and the Enhancers just generally make things sound awfull. Its is a good effect and i have used it some, but mainly i like the trance gate in it. Also its one of those effects that allthough cool you can often tell that its camel space. I eill check this Sugar Bites thing out :)

I have been using Effectrix on all sorts of stuff, even, you could simply program a basic hi-hat loop or any drum parts and give some real nice variation. And on lead lines and such, you could tear it up. Personally I would not waste money on Camelspace. I am not saying its not good but, its just dated and you could essentially do the same effects with Effectrix but, they will sound better on Effectrix and you can do a whole lot more. This is just my opinion. But, I left the link up top, check it for yourself, they got a demo. I got the demo and in like 2 mins after I tried it, I bought it like it was goin out of style:toothless

Thanks for all the input guys. I downloaded both demos a few days ago and they're both pretty cool. I ended up buying CamelSpace right away because it was cheaper and I liked it better on vocal tracks. Effectrix is totally cool for mangling drum/percussion loops, synths, etc. I'm probably going to buy it anyway just because it's definitely better as an all-around effect, IMO.
