hey there guys! I am new to the Forum here on tranceaccict and with that said please dont hate on my cuz i am a new and ask some weird questions.
anyway
in every ,well pretty much every house or trance or techno song you hear now you always hear the sound of wind or something in that form coming along right before the big brake comes kind of like a build up. It pretty much has replaced the drum roll that use to be so big back in the day in trance and even big name DJ's have even said it has , it has replaced the drum roll.
well if your still asking your self what my question is . how do you make that sound ?
i use a mac book pro and the only thing i really use to make tracks is garage band . i had pro tools on here at one point but i got rid of it,made my to slow ya know. dont get reason and live as i have tryed there demos and i am clue less. I do use a 2nd computer witch is a PC running Fl studio, its an old copy so i dont know if it will have the same plug in's as the new one would. i have made good use of my garage band so far but feel there are some things out there that i would like to try and do and that sound would be one of them.
hope some one can help me out. sorry for the long long question follow up lol |

Download a free synth...
Dial in some white noise, automate the filter, profit.... |

Okay, In fl studio load up the 3xosc and put all the wave forms on white noise (the one that looks like a scribble). Then assign it to a channel in the mixer, put a low pass filter on it and automate it so it opens over however long, it will make a swoosh sound when you play it. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions.
Not sure if you will be able to open it but i uploaded an flp here. [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
It's nothing special but it gets the point across |

Welcome on TA and, don't worry about any weird questions.
What said above, it indeed is a (white) noise automated by a filter, I always tend to use the filter freqency knob (LowPass) on the synth, but it can also be done with a ordinary lowpass filter, if automated ofcourse.
You can also get the effect without automating and setting the LFO on the synth, but automating is easier. |
