Tiesto : Sneaking house and techno tune in sets....Comments.

Well DJ Tiesto seems to be experimenting because most of his new sets from 2002 seem to have a fair few techno and house tunes in them. His 3 hour set from La Rocca was bombed by house beats. I was curious about what people think of this, I personally like it when he drops tunes like these into his trance sets. I got the feeling that some people dissaprove of this though, Comments welcome.... :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Hell yeah I approve!!

Experimenting is what gives DJ's their own unique style!! I have total respect for the ppl that are open minded (i.e: ppl who listen to more than just 1 genre of music).

anyway: these experiments are fine, if they make the crowd moving :D

For better or for worse i think this the way some dj's are
going now, not playing one genre but a mix of electronic. Now i havent listened to the set in question so i cant comment. Is the flow interupted by having a depp house track after a uplifting 1? if
no then good.

as long as it's good it dosent bother me. but there's a reason why "trance" is trance and "techno" is techno and that they are different genres.

does the prophet ring any bells..? :)

i've said it thousands of times before, its sucky

lots of different reasons, but the main one must be that it doesnt fit very good, and he is ing up his sets =/

there is a purpose for that we have trance djs, techno djs, etc for each and every genre..

I persoanlly wouldent put the prophet under the category house or techno like. I was refering to more obvious tunes of this genre.... Spacecruisin, Cosmos, 29 palms.

Each to their own tastes,I guess.Personally,I think genre-mixing is great,as long as it doesn't hamper the flow and structure of the set overall.Mixing genres helps to avoid overload on one sound, which easily gets boring and tedious.I don't think Tijs would have pulled off The Dutch Dimension-set for instance, without boring people unless he had played those house and techno tunes that he played.Too much of something is always bad,no matter what.

Yeah, I tried to avoid bringing Dutch Dimension up because it was obvious that in 9 hours he was going to play other genres, But i have become aware that he has played techno & house tune in smaller set.... 50 minute sets. Thats a whole differant story what so ever.

I`m glad people accept a differant sound other than trance. :haha: :haha:
