alright, some people were gifted in the ability to dance, whereas some like myself...need all the help they can get. whenever i go to clubs/raves i see some of the best dancers, so i was wondering if there are different types/styles and where these people learn to dance like that?

dancing is furthered with experiance... when i started clubbing i couldnt dance for , now ive been doin it a while and my dancin has improved with it.

basically, its best to just move the way u feel. watch others and how they do it.. but being a good dancer isnt nessesarily that important, so long as u have a good time :)

p.s. no matter what people say, drugs help! :toothless: ;)
burns

Agreed! hahahah, helped me for sure!

But mainly just wathc others until you start feeling the rhythm of the music and get some moves down. It took 6 months until I would actaully DANCE at a party.

It's the same thing with Breakdancing. I just kept watching my friends and slowly picked up the style and rhythm. Just remember to have fun and not worry, and you will learn faster.

Good Luck

hahhaa, yeah there's probably no teaching videos on how to club dance. Maybe the MTV Grind workout video!!!!! There are fe wfew breakdancing vids out and even a few House-Dancing Videos.

But as for just plain dancing. probably not. You can always do the "Nordic-Track" hahahahahah. We call it the "Philly Stomp" in Philly. You know, just stomping around the dance floor. like you're working out.

yes young jedi, you have lots to learn, no?
feel the force within...
i learned by watching other people dancing, and just basically copied them.
now i can go out and dance with the best of them

you just learn. i think we'd all admit that we looked like when we started (or at least most of us..:happy2: )
it helps if you have a good sense of rhythm, i got mine from spinning; if you know how the phrases and bars will break down, you can move easier.

are there names for the way/style that people dance...i've heard liquid, break of course...any others???

I do liquid. The best thing to do is learn a song really well and learn how to dance to IT. After you start understanding what moves go with beats and rythms put on other songs and improvise. Go to anything like Imesh or limewire and type in liquid dancing and watch some of the stuff they do. If youve never seen it before its a hard thing to emulate because you dont know what it is :toothless

I've been finding liquid extreeemly sexy to watch lately.hmmm...
just when people put their heart into it and really feel the beats then anything looks good!
