OK -- All's clear again for WEMF! Thank the universe.
Notice last night that my Yaris looked kinda flat at the back end on the driver's side...
I go over and push in on the back rear driver's side tire and, yup, sure enough, she was flat. I could easily depress my finger into the tire.
I was worried. I hoped that the hole was in the tread and not the tire side wall!
Went and filled her up at the nearby gas station... fearing the whole ride over that I hope she had enough air in her still that I wasnt ing up my rim (or damaging the side wall of my tire?).
Only 5 PSI left in the tire when I took the air pump to her! HOLY CRAP!
This morning, as I'm driving to work (actually having forgotten that my tire was ed), I thought to myself that the drive seemed kinda bouncy-ish on the left side. Then it hit me! ! My back tire!
Thank god work is only like 5kms from my house! Pulled into the gas station which is right by my office, and, sure enough (again), the tired was almost completely deflated.
At lunch called to make sure could just drop my car by a tire/mechanic shop to have the hole plugged. No problem. But on even the tiny, tiny drive from work to the gas station (1 min tops), I was worried about the damage I might be doing by riding on my tire as such. She was damn near at 0 PSI when I again put air into it. And the ride didnt feel or sound right as I was driving. Thank god I had less than a 1/4 of a KM to go from work parking lot to gas station airpump!
Fill up the tire again and drove across town to the mechanic shop, where they plugged the whole for me in 15 mins and $20 cash.
They didnt say that I'd damaged the tire or steelie by the limited driving that had occurred on it while the tire was flat…
So I'm really hoping that means they quickly checked and found no concern.
Anyways, Cara (my Yaris) is all plugged and bandaged up now on her back left tire-foot, and ready to drive the 300+ KM it is to WEMF!
I'm glad she's fixed! No disaster today -- only 2 days before WEMF! PHEW. |
