| is there a way to tell if someone is using a beat matching machine that does it for you...such as traktor...as opposed to doing it the harder way? |

Yeah, but you have to be very quiet. You have to kinda sneak up behind the DJ in the booth when he/she is really into a mix, lean over his/her shoulder, and then scream at the top of your lungs: "HEY THERE, WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING?"
If they are manually beat matching, this will cause a massive up and you'll have your answer.:D |

| If it isn't audibly noticeable, then it shouldn't matter. |

Traktor's match/sync feature sucks. So, if the beat sounds like a the gallop of a wounded horse, it's probably Traktor. |

You can tell if someone isn't that good at warping their tracks, then it sounds like a badly matched track. As heard on these forums on the DJ promotions threads. But if they have it down pretty good then no, you really can't tell.

Perhaps, but who do you respect more, the trapeze artist with the safety net or the one without...? (Not implying that DJing is life threatening in anyway).
Cheers

It works great once you know how. Takes some work in prepping tracks beforehand.
Traktor 2.x did the syncing fine when used properly, but the first releases of 3.x had a few problems there. |
