burning an ISO cd, Mode 1 & Mode2/XA ????

I'm backing up some mp3's at the moment.....since i just swithced to nero for that, i have a question...
what's the difference betweeen Mode 1 and Mode2/XA ... and which one should i choose?

i don't know the difference between them but i've been using nero for about 1 year and i never had problems with it when i back up my mp3s (wether i use the cds in the computer or in my mp3 player)
i always burn them in ISO LEVEL 2 and MODE 2 / XA
that's what i suggest :) maybe someone can explain to us |

thanks for the info bro....that should give me a start.
I was also wondering, when you were using nero, did all the spaces in the file get converted to underscores? does it matter?
oh, and more importantly, why does it cut off half of the filename?
How can i change that???? |

successful interchange. These discs are very sensitive to scratches,
debris, and other degradation caused by normal handling. Longevity of
such discs is dramatically worse than discs recorded in CD-ROM Mode 1 or
CD-ROM/XA Mode 2/Form 1 formats.
Never use multisession recording if discs containing data files must be
readable in legacy drives. Instead, use disc-at-once with the CD-ROM
Mode 1 format.
If multisession recording is essential, then use the
CD-ROM Mode 1 format, and accept the fact that the discs may not be
readable in a few very old CD-ROM drives.
Do not jeopardize quality by
using CD-ROM/XA for other than multimedia. Never use CD-ROM/XA Mode
2/Form 2 for data. Instead, focus on achieving interchange and
longevity in the enormous number of CD-ROM drives manufactured since
1991. Do not compromise quality by attempting to achieve interchange in
a few legacy drives. |
