Petition to get Trance videos played in Canada

I think its time we approached MTV Canada and Much music about giving the Trance/Euro Dance/Electronica videos a place to be played in Canada.
Since I moved back from Iceland I have been shocked at the total lack of trance music videos in Canada.
I am going to create a petition that we can eventually bring to MTV Canada and Much Music to finally get us a weekly show dedicated to trance videos, and hopefully videos of DJ sets as well.

good luck, but it won't fly with them, they only play stuff that's super popular on much, or that's way overplayed on the radio first. Electric Cicrus is probably your only alternative, EC is a total joke BTW. NewMusic used to be somewhat cool, but since that new guy took over it's gone down the hill and now it's all about the new rebirth of ROCK & Roll or some crap like that.
They might play some occasional vid, but it would have to be super cheesy and popular on the radio first.
I had the same exact idea about 4 years ago when I came to Canada, but only gave up after a couple of tries. I mean I actually tried doing something about it!:crazy: |

I'm not signing this. Last thing I need is having my fav trance tunes being played out on the tv/radio.
Think of the drawbacks before going on with this...sure, it'd be nice, and I would honestly love to turn on the tv and see the Out of the Blue video for example, but not here. Cuz then it would pick up, and trance would be like pop, rock, and R&B are now, so much outplayed commercial stuff, that no artist would last longer than 4 years. |

I am totally agree with you guys that saying something might not work
cause not a lot of people will love and understand trance, cause it is not commercial and more complicated link of music. |

I saw Darude's Sandstorm being played on Much once .. does that count?!? hahaha!
btw. Viva TV or TMF as it'z known in Europe does stream 24/7 @ 300k online .. itz gotta good mix of popular stuff and electronic.. man even their commercials are cool .. :] |

I agree.. I don't want Much Music playing trance videos on their regular rotation. They would defiently chose the crappiest cheesiest mosy PLAYED songs tour jours. (Hmm Isn't that what they do already?:mad: )
EC is a load of crap... nuff said. Bunch of battymen prancing around to Britney Spears... :whip:
MM "used" to have a show dedicated to the electronica that played a variety of stuff. For the life of me i can't remember the name but they were total idiots on when they actually aired the show so no one really knew about it or watched it.
This is what MM SHOULD do. Bring back a show dedicated purely to electronica. Just like they used to have. Make it at least an HOUR long, give it a REGULAR time slot and hire me as host.

| we have a dance station,, BPM. they finally got some good videos this month like Svenson & Gielen, Push, Marco V, Joy Kitikonti. and a fellow tranceaddict is the music director ;) I'm sure he'll add his 2 cents. |

BPM is a very good station, knowing the fact that it is a Canadian station, but still I think it is ok, even though it may not be so great,but trust me it is aloooooooooooot better then Much Music!!the problem is that it is only good for satelite users!!:( :(
so yes I do like to see some trance videos on MM!!!but no cheesy !
even though it could mean that trance wont be underground anymore!!but look at europe, like Germany trance music is very popular and itis getting better and better,so this might be a good idea!!
Ohh and can somebody pleeeeeeeease put the the direct link for TMF
because I didnt think u can watch it on internet!!!

Get a satellite dish with European channels, and tune into VIVA, MTV, TMF, whatever...
Otherwise suffer from MuchMusic and the b.s. they play all the time... cuz electronic music channel/show won't take off around here for the next couple of years, due to the ignorance of producers, directors, and people in charge of all that. |
