| Little enthusiasm. Zero variation in track selection. At times I felt like I was listening to a crap outro on loop. It just felt like they could not be bothered. The whole set lacked energy... and so did I by 7:30am... |

Felt what? I felt severe boredom. I was happy the cops turned up 3 times and livened the place up a bit.
Sergeant Waverley was good enough to stick around and 'do' the robot dance for us, complete with flashlights..
I hear he's opening for Deko-ze next Sunday..:clown: |

| Just came home after it closed. First time back since January. The place is brighter, but other than that, no big changes. It was fairly filled up but not crowded. I had a blast. |

i've been a huge fan of Vinyl Junkie's dark and chunky/chuggy sets that they were pounding out at zone last year. I wonder if its the same?
then again, not every set is a winner, even teams with two DJs can both be off and fail to deliver. How the mixing etc? Was it technically good but just not tunage you were relating too, or did they totally miss the mood of the crowd? |

The mixing was great. I can't fault them there and I have my own decks and spin, so I know what to listen out for. Tunage - erm.. well like I said just no change for hours in anything. It just felt like a very lazy set.. that they were not bothered that the crowd were not overly excited.
It was more that they missed the mood of the crowd. It's the second time I have 'knowingly' seen them there and it seemed the same last time. Flat atmosphere until the next DJ showed up and finally the place livened up, people started getting more energetic.
Greg Gow came on and dropped "From the Speaker" later on and everyone went nuts... He built it up and finally dropped it. The crowd were anticipating it. I only know this of course as my hubby told me. I had already left with a bunch of friends to chill at home. |
