I went to Target last night, and heard this lady chewing out her kid cause he swallowed his gum.... She was like "now that piece of gum is gonna be stuck to your intestines for SEVEN years, do you know that you are gonna be THIRTEEN when that gum finally passes through your system!" :rolleyes:
I remember that one used to scare me as a kid. It got me thinking of childhood myths. What are your favs or which ones scared you straight? |

I had a similar story, on that note. My mom used to say a gum tree would start growing inside of you. :haha:

Don't swallow the watermelon seeds cuz you'll grow a watermelon!
Don't let a boy touch you cuz you'll get prego! :nervous: That was my biggest fear til I learned that you can get prego in a swimming pool! :stongue:
I got the swallowing gum lecture too but if I swallowed it then my intestines would get stuck together.
Don't go to sleep with your hair wet cuz you'll get all little bumps (sores) on your head.

back in hong kong, my parents would always say
"if you don't finish all the rice in your bowl, the girl you marry will have acne/craters all over her face." |

A friend of the family used to babysit me on some days, in order to get me to eat (I was waaay skinny as a kid) she would tell me that if I don't finish eating my food would chase me around hell for all eternity.
