| Free Jack in the Box tacos, free slurpee, and now a free chili dog. I see more of these unhealthy free promotions popping up during this kind of economy. I guess it's a good marketing strategy. It's just funny how crazy and excited people get for an item that costs pennies to make. :p |

Oh, they most certainly can! I applauded their marketing departments. It's just how funny how something so little in value can make people act all excited and crazy. Like waiting in a 5 minute line for gas because it's 10 cents cheaper than the station across the street with no wait. ;) |

Yeah, but when I see luxury cars and SUVs lined up waiting for the cheaper gas, I can't help but wonder if the owners actually used their heads in the first place to live life with a balanced budget. Had they balanced their budgets wisely to begin with, they wouldn't need to get excited over such cheap and silly promotions.
Instead we get an economy where people will get into shoving matches over wacky free 99 cent item promotions. Just wait. I'm calling it now. :)
P.S. You're right about buying a coke with the free chili dog. Fountain drinks are such a money-maker for fast food joints. The free chili dog along with the 500%+ (maybe more?) mark-up for soda will surely yield some decent earnings and customers. |
