Try Transformers. Just about every scene made me cringe in horror.

But did it make you afraid to be alone at night?
Did you have bad actors and directors invading your nightmares?

E.T.
HES COMING TO GET YOU.
ok, but in all seriousness, when i was younger E.T. scared the crap out of me, i havent been as scared by anything since. A couple of years after i watched it i was still traumatised and we went to universal studios in Florida..........where of coarse we went on the E.T. ride, i think i wet myself .:nervous:

The only one capable of producing these feelings for me is David Lynch (try 'Inland Empire').
Lynch is really good at the "making me scared to be alone" part.
Probably because his movies often feature people alone in houses as the soundtrack plays little more than deep, foreboding bass.

LOL, I was the same way. I used to have nightmares that E.T. was coming down the hallway toward my bedroom.

Seriously now, being scared or not by a movie hugely depends on your mindset. Most people have a story like "I watched ... as a kid and it scared the out of me." to tell. I think that's because we are more responsive to all kinds of emotions as kids. If you've switched that off, you'll have a hard time finding a movie that scares you, or does anything at all emotionally. Filmmakers already reacted to this by making movies like SAW that desperately try to disgust the viewer in an attempt to have any effect at all.

Checking it out, thanks. Did he do Blue Velvet?
edit/ He did. I can understand what you mean. Extremely uncomfortable and tense.
