Ya, I'm guilty of that also.........

And of course I wouldnt move specifically for a better party scene, but it would play a role.

And I'll take miami's scene over gainesville's or jacksonville's any day. (minus private house parties)

jacksonville was hot fire at one time too. When I was 19.

I rememeber driving up there to see Zabiela and first time meeting a bunch of TA's. Back then they had Satoshi Tomie.. and weekly big dj's. Forgot who else.

The whole moving thing for me was being able to go from one big city to another big city. No way can I do something smaller. It was a good thing that I happened to move to a city with a scene but it defeats the purpose of why I kinda wanted to get out of Miami. I partied too freaking much!:stongue: Fail.

I get the poser argument, and the lack of diversity, no doubt. But give credit where credit is due... 5am close/24 hour downtown, more clubs on south beach per capita than anywhere else in the US, the beautiful people, day parties, etc.

I keep hearing about the "glory days" of the scene in Miami, but for me, it's now. Every time I visit the city I manage to party hard for the duration of my trip, and I leave saying "if I lived here, I'd be in jail by now." If that's not a good enough town to party in, you guys aren't trying hard enough.

And seriously, if you love electronic music enough, migrate to Chicago or NYC and be done with it.

I guess just hope for the better:D
Miami does have it's moments, it might not be continuous but like epdarks said you can party 24/7 in miami :toocool:

or come to DC, we get the same DJ that Chicago brings to Vision, and more often than not every top DJ that stops in NYC on friday is guarenteed to be in DC the next night or vice versa. Just saying theres more great scenes out there than Just Gotham city and Chi-town

I think the entire scene in Miami could use some trimming... it will downsize substantially, many of the downtown clubs will close, and hopefully this process will weed out some posers. Big names are getting more expensive to book so I think you'll see an increase in smaller bookings, along with smaller niche parties in general. Most importantly the members of the scene should support good music, but for some reason that never happens.

I honestly don't know.

Space doesn't have someone like... Ardamis?? Am I correct? I know renzo knew her.

Well way back then she was the one making all the bookings and that's when Space was bringing in talent like Ferry, Tiesto iirc. Not 100% sure on that. Either way they don't have a good events promoter

Also, Lack of support. I have seen loads of even TA's who barely support the scene. Kinda weak. I've seen tons of parties being posted and when I come to check out the FL section I see ZERO reviews.

Lots of travelling TA's don't travel anymore. I'm talking about mostly the older crew.

The ones I see hyping the music scene up are central/north fl TA's. Miami is a bit lame. If I go.. which I do go home alot.. I still party my ass off but not many omfg moments.

Space's line up never changes. They haven't brought someone from out of the blue in how long? You can expect PvD the same months.. ALWAYS.. Since I was 18/19 November & June/July.. Morillo is always around my bday weekend and before him it was Sander K.

Forget about Space, they have no interest in furthering the EDM scene in Miami. They will continue with the same 'tired worn out useless' formula until the 2000 or so rafters, prostitutes, cokeheads, meth-heads and vampires that still show up there weekly get deported, overdose, get a wooden stake driven thru their hearts or otherwise stop showing up.

With minimal at its peak, and people saying how great tech house, tech trance and minimal are, where are the Space bookings of talent like Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Mauro Picotto, Chris Liebing, Marco V, SVD, Zabiela, etc, etc??? No where to be found. And their house bookings are crap to say the least. Trance bookings are PVD, and that's all folks. Mansion brings better DJs than Space, and that is embarassing to say the least.

Having that great club there and not booking anyone is the equivalent of having a Ferrari in your driveway and taking the bus, or having Jessica Alba naked in your bed and jerking off instead of bangin her. Anyone who applauds or defends Space's mediocrity is full of .

lol @ rafters...in the end, everyone ends up at Space
love it or hate it
