| it's not just a question of louder, but mostly of clearer, based on my last visit, that Bar Rio need(s/ed?) most. louder helps to a point (personally I like it where you can feel it but it's not preventing all communications not shouted at the top of your voice), but clear sound is priority 1 in my book. |

| it's not only that it's the crowd aswell. i can't imagine richie playing a texan crowd, then again i've seen richie play abandoned parking lots before. you never know what to expect with that man, |

There is A LOT involved in getting a good sound system than just going out and spending the money on high end speakers. and as large as bar rio is it would probably cost more than what is in reach. they have made some improvements to it. but honestly they would have to replace the entire floor in there and also have a sound engineer to come in and set up all the acustics for the club. now if houston had money like new york and La and Miami and what not than it would be a different story. But for the mean time as long as the head liner keeps the out of the red and quits over working the sound system it seems to sound SOOO much better in there. Peaking out all the levels does not mean it gets louder. ;) |
I agree. It would cost way too much money to get a place like Bar Rio to sound good.
I just hope Richie doesn't puss it out just because it is Texas like everyone else seems to do. Oh well at least I'll probably see him in New York soon. |

Cool that Houston is getting Hawtin. Something is wrong though, becasue he was supposed to be in Montreal for one the 10 special Contakt parties celebrating the 10 year Minus anniverary.

It's also on his own website. I'm hoping the Houston show date is wrong so I can make it - maybe Saturday?! However, my guess is that Houston really has him that date. Montreal date must have been changed. |

I really hope I have the money for gas/hotel after I finish paying my bill for school. I would love to be able to compare how he plays in Houston vs New York.
Anyone planning on heading up from San Antonio? |

so it's official. he (they?) will actually be in houston on the 29th (it's on the m-nus site, along with an announcement about the change). I stand corrected. See some of you there.
I just hope it's somewhere else. bar rio is horrible anyway, and even worse for, say, richie & co. |
