Do you have to pay any deposit for that? I'm thinking of doing the same thing too...

No deposit, you pay for the phone itself (~ $215 after tax). It should be at the store waiting for you within a week.

You only paid $215? I was at the apple store and I paid $236 after taxes?

Why the difference... Apple was saying the tax is based on $399, which added up.

Different cities have different tax rates too.

Strange... they only charged me tax for the $199 purchase. I don't know which one is right or not.

I'm curious how you got out of the store without the required activation of the phones... you must have some friends that work at at&t :p

"It's a present for a few friends" they really aren't going to force you to activate them at the apple store or the at&t stores. You just have to bull enough to get out of it.

Anyway to unlock the new iphone yet? You can make some money by doing that, but not much.
