| dude its a movie, who cares if its unrealistic, you're acting like the person who tells little kids theres no Santa and laughs in their face. you should watch documentaries instead of blockbuster movies that are entertaining |

I saw Dark Knight today and thought the movie was great. Christian Bale was great as usual in all his movies and Heath Ledger was great as the joker. To respond to Pat, Christian can definitely act and is not the worst Batman. Christian was great in Amercan Psycho and the Machinist. Christian definitely brings that darkness to the Batman character that's needed. Unlike George Clooney, Val Kilmer and Michael Keaton. And Christian talks different so he doesn't sound like Bruce Wayne when in costume. He's trying to keep his ID secret.
Heath Ledger was great and his performance is inspiring as Jack Nicholson in the 1st new Batman movie. Of course Heath brought a more dark side to the Joker than Jack. I recall everyone excited about Jack's performance back then too.
My problems were the Two face story and thought it was rushed and maybe even not necessary. It made the movie run a little long. The spying by listening at the phone calls was a thinly veiled stab at the government and a little too far fetched. I didn't care for Maggie G either. She seems like an annoying person and it comes through her character.
Still a great movie and will buy on BD when it comes out. |
THANK YOU! i dont 100% agree with you but still thank you! im just so sick and tired of talking to people asking them why they thought it was good and no one being able to explain it. atleast you were able to accomplish that!
i may have gone overboard on my explanation but its very frustrating when i talk to everyone and they simply dont believe that i didnt like it. its like its unacceptable that i didnt like the movie. and thats bull. |

| come one guys when has Pat Mcgroin had anything positive to say about anything, and i mean anything? the glass is always half empty with this guy. i withhold judgement about the movie till i see it myself, but from what i heard from friends is that Heath had a stellar performance, bale was kinda of blah, and the movie falls apart at the end, but overall a decent flick because of Ledgers intensity. |

ing BADASS motherfuking movie!
Biggest C. Bale complaint was the gay Batman voice lol.
This is by far the best fuking Joker & he was different...he was just as the comic book portrayed him (completely fuking insane) & without regard for anything, he never had motives for anything he just did what he wanted. The makeup, the action, the plot was just as it should have been.
I admit two face was a little short lived but I honestly doubt he is dead and if he is it's not so different than in the comic (which he didn't have such a huge role in anyway)
Morgan Freeman quitting was a little disappointing but he even said to Bruce what he was doing about tapping into everyone's conversations and privacy was wrong, he did not like that & didn't want part of it...although I think he MAY come back but then again if Morgan Freeman decided he didn't want that role anymore they obviously had to find a good way to finish his job with Batman.
The most awesome scene is the truck scene...OMFG everyone in the theather was like DAAAMN!
Who really cares about the actors they chose...the one that really mattered in this one was the Joker (being the biggest villan of Batman). The focus was on his role as the Joker & in that regard I think Ledger delivered very well. C. Bale proved to be a good actor for Batman in Batman Begins (when the focus was obviously on him & how he became Batman).
All in all, the movie has been rated by the critics (who are biased idiots in a lot of cases) and they gave it an A overall & the THOUSANDS of yahoo users also averaging an A.
It's pure fact, this Batman was the best yet! If you didn't like it, chances are you don't know much about the comics or maybe have to go against the tide.
I can't wait to see it again @ the IMAX! :D |

um, Batman didn't see the punch because the beating he took right before that messed up the 3d technology. They showed it flickering on and off, thats why the punch completely surprised him.
The Batmobile was terribe in Batman Begins and terrible here. The bike was dumb too but its all comic book stuff.
The Joker was amazing and I thought he showed enough range. If you think about how a person would really act like that than it was good. He wasn't playing someone trying to "act" the right way, he was playing it like he was the Joker. Hopefully that makes sense.
Bale is supposed to be stoic and not show a lot of emotion. Bruce Wayne is a dark guy. Have you ever read the comics? He isn't Spider-Man or even the earlier incarnations of Batman.
I thought the Rachel story was pretty bad... if you can't get the same girl don't bother with it. I like Maggie G but not in this movie. She isn't a stunner and she isn't likeable enough in this movie or Batman Begins to warrant creating Two-Face from her death. She couldn't answer yes to the proposal but we're supposed to believe they have such an intense romance?
Regardless of that stuff I loved the film. They didn't show Joker die because he didn't. Not sure why you thought he died. He was hanging upside down on the rope and the cops showed up. He will be in Arkham Asylum and in 10 years when the next "visionary" director comes along and finds someone willing and able to handle the roll there will be another Joker.
Good point on the mob stuff - way too much screen time for them.
But who cares about Morgan Freeman quitting? To me he distracts and detracts from the movie, along with Batman Begins. It should be a bit part, too many names will make it seem like Batman and Robin. |

Agreed 100%
the Joker NEVER dies in the comic which in turn he didn't die in the movie, he was captured lol. |

but the whole point of the technology was to just locate where he was... once he found them, what was the point of continuing to use it? once he was fighting the joker there was no need to use it anymore! if he wouldnt of been using it, he WOULD of seen that punch coming. i dunno. i call bull on that. and i call bull on most of the movie.
its just too much of a stretch for me. |

right, but he had to do that at the location? morgan freeman couldnt do it from the office or whatever? it just makes no sense. and who was on the phone the entire scene that even made all of that possible??? no one.
and how come batman was able to build that technology all by himself but everything else he needs morgan freeman for?
also one more issue you just reminded me of... batman warns the cops about the building and they all go and surround the building with dogs and everything, but then when two face dies by falling off the building the cops are no where to be seen. for like 5 minutes theres no cops anywhere. then at the end all of a sudden they are back again. its just terrible movie making. either the editors were absolute (highly doubt that because of the budget involved in this film) or they just didnt care enough.
i dunno... if you enjoyed this movie then good for you... and if you can explain why then even better. i just cant believe how terrible it was. its so disappointing. |
