Good question!

His own production might not be so good the recent years, but his remixes still owns. :eyes:

Yes, Ian Green is his co-producer, and im sure he does most the work, but Oakenfold still has his ideas behind the track,
im sure there arent many major bands/artists etc around the world either that produces their own tracks either.

When you have a name like Tiesto or Oakenfold, you just dont have the time to sit and tweak a bassline until it sounds right.
Yeah, i know there are loads of producers that does all the work themselves, and thats great too.

If I could get my musical ideas with the use of an producer/engineer i for sure would, and the end result would be great.

And you can sit here on the forum writing about "he does that" "he doesnt do that" "he did that"
But, really.. what the hell do you know about what goes on behind the scenes and how a track is put together?

So many people are going around in forums assuming they know things based on what some other dude has written on some other forum, and it kinda becomes the never proven truth.

Oakenfold has also produced records for just as many rock bands as he has in electronic music. (atleast he said so in an interview)

Claiming this and that based on a rumor is just stupid and ignorant.

lol take it easy there... i simply posted ian green so that he would get credit for oakey's work as much as andy gray (since the poster above had stated it was andy who was doing all of oakey's productions). i have no idea % wise how much paul contributes to the music vs andy vs ian vs whomever else. and i really don't care.

and yes it's all speculation unless you or i or anyone is actually there.

Hey, i was not aiming at you, but those other broken records around this forum.

You have a point, i just based my answer from rumours i've read on the internet. But either way i don't think Oakey contributed that much really, and i dunno if he really has the most serious production skills, he could bring up ideas of hiw own and such but still needed a experienced producer to make his trademark sound.

I wonder for example how much he contributed to the Grace moniker?

Why would they need him if he couldnt produce ?
He wasnt exactly well know at that time, so his name was nothing.
Grace ceased to exist because Paul didnt have time due to his DJing, if he werent doing anything, why dismantle the group?

He has 3 tracks on the Swordfish album which is credited him alone, should indicate he knows something.

junkproject
His differently making bank from his production. Too bad his mixes are so poor.

This is old news get with the times please people.

For the sake of having an opinion though in all honesty if Paul Oakenfold and his whole entire family set on fire I wouldn't even bother pissing on the load of money grabbing C*nts. His only in it for the money so don't bother paying him any attention.
