| Howdy, everyone. Anyone here have any recommendations on a distortion VST that really adds a nice touch of edginess to a synth? I currently use Antares Tube, but it muddles the lower frequencies and doesn't provide enough sharpness. Either useful recommendations and/or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, guys. |

Hi
Theres a re fairly new one from D16 that's getting a lot of attention and good comments.

It's quite cheap to and if the quality of their other products is anything to go by then should be good. |

Have you tried sticking the Antares Tube on a send whilst putting a high pass filter on the send also, could maybe stop the muddying of the low end? |

That is actually quite a brilliant idea! Why I did not think of that, is another concern of mine! ;-) Thank you. |

Looks expensive, but I appreciate the input! |

The sample files sound pretty solid especially the last one. I will research this some more. Thank you! |

This one sounds pretty good from the example files. I might pursue this one. Thank you. |

| Both CamelSpace and CamelPhat can do some pretty interesting things to sound including distortion so give them a look as well. Good luck! |

The Kombinat plugin was mentioned together with the D16 one in Computer Music as one of the better ones. Still have to try them myself though :) |

| Yes, that is actually how I heard about Kombinat, I read CM every month. I have not actually used this plug yet but, the feature list looks real sweet. D16's I have used, and I actually quite like it but, the Kombinat I really want, since it has bitcrusher and many other types built in. I like that it is like a swiss army knife for distortion.:toothless |
