Anyone catch the first two episodes?

Part 1 was a little slow just introducing all the characters. I caught part 2 on Tivo last night and the pace picked up significantly.

It reminds me of a TV version of "Three Kings", which I loved back in the day.

Anyone else watching this?

Ive watched the first episode so far. Seems ok but hard to judge from just one episode.

Started watching it because its produced by David Simon, the man that created the best show ever.

I'm a bit apprehensive to watch this myself, having actually been over there, tho its always interesting how others portray soldiers. This could either turn out being a very positive program that demonstrates the sacrifices we make, and demonstrates the forward progress in Iraq, or it could go the other way and totally villify our servicemen and women. I'm curious.

I read the book on which this is based and it doesn't do either one. It really has no slant. Sometimes US soldiers are shown as scumbags, because they do scumbag things like shooting a random civilian in the head as they are driving past him in a column.

Other times, they help people out.

Some characters in the book were beyond redemption though, others were stand-up people.

It is what it is.

It's definitely picking up. Last Sunday's ep. was great. Loving the Sergeant character in charge of the camoed hummer but I forget his name.
In The Lobby
same guys who did wire.
might check it out, since the wire is the best show ever made.
