A new evening @ Parking
presented by the TUBBIES

Recently proclaimed as the gay/lesbian bar of the year in Montreal’s last 2008 Top d’ICI, the Parking Nightclub certainly does not intend to rest on its laurels. Constantly in search of innovation, the management of the establishment just joined the team of TUBBIES Entertainment to present the very new evening Sound Of Montréal, on Friday, August 29. Having for mission to promote local talents since their foundation in June 2002, the TUBBIES are proposing a splendid evening with the veterans DJs/Producers Scott Free (www.djscottfree.com) and Steve Bear Sas (www.bear.nu).

Laval Red-Lite’s color bearer since 1996, DJ/Producer Scott Free has a long experience of the Nightlife, having begun at the age of 14 as lighting engineer in clubs intended for the 14-17 (13e Ciel and Dance Music). His career as DJ will have enabled him to play in several places that marked their era, i.e. Di Salvio, Steel Monkey, Playground, Groove Society, and also to wear proudly “Mr. Dayclub”’ hat remaining several years at the late Daylight Dayclub on St. Laurent Boulevard. Having known several successful productions, Scott Free distills the rhythms with a versatility which enables him to pass easily from house to techno.

After beginnings as doorman in the most popular clubs of the city, Steve Bear Sas migrates quickly towards his natural habitat: the DJ booth. As of his first moments behind the turn tables, Bear builds a solid base of fans who still today don’t miss any of his performances. From his visits in the greatest establishments of the province, his residence at Stereo Nightclub will be the one that will propel him into the apron and will make him share the decks with the famous Victor Calderone, David Morales, Hex Hector, Angel Moraes, Junior Vaquez and Hector Romero. His work in the studio also starts to draw the attention of the bonzes of industry, whereas his remix of Don' T Loose the Magic, from Shawn Christopher, promoted under Montreal’s Redzonerouge label, makes quite an impression. Its first production Black Sun which he just commercialised with his fellow-member Danny Buddah Morales, was one of the best sellers on the label Iberican Recordings, since the beginning of the year.

« Several local DJs unceasingly ask us for a chance to play at Parking », explains Pascal Lefrebvre, general manager of the Parking Group. « Unfortunately, it is too often hard for us to find available places for them. However, we wish to have them over. When Gaëtan from the TUBBIES came to propose the project of this evening to us, Gregg and I liked the idea very much ! ». If the first edition of Sound Of Montréal proves to be a success, it will be possible for you to discover a diversity of local talents, every fifth Friday of the year (October 31, 2008, January 30, May 29, July 31, 2009): « When you think of it, it is the public that will decide if this evening will be able to fit in the annals of this legendary club », the producer Gaëtan Vaudry confirms. « The list of DJs who will be able to perform there is long and especially quite interesting ! »

The TUBBIES and all the Parking Nightlcub team invites you on Friday, August 29th at 10 p.m. when Sound of Montréal will be paying homage to house music and its culture in one coloured and inspiring evening. At the same time popular and trendy, the Paking Nightclub is an address to remember for those who find interest in new night experiments: provided with an exceptional new generation sound system and with a LED lighting system which is reinvented unceasingly.
