DJ ASSAULT
http://www.myspace.com/dj_assault
DJ Assault has had a large hand in bringing ghetto-tech, aka booty music, from the urban streets of Detroit to the suburban club circuit. The incorporation of electro beats with hardcore, sometimes pornographic lyrics, is what makes ghetto-tech highly distinguishable from its other techno cousins. (Though DJ Assault actually formed as a duo -- with Craig Adams and Ade' Mainor, aka Mr. De -- the latter left in 2000.) Two self-run record labels, Assault Rifle and Electrofunk, have released Assault's signature tracks, "Crank This Mutha," "Sex on the Beach," and "Ass and Titties."

DJ FUNK

While Detroit artists like DJ Assault and DJ Godfather specialized in what is often referred to as ghetto tech, Chicago-based icon DJ Funk specialized in ghetto house. He first rose to prominence in the late '90s with a series of EP releases for the prolific Dancemania label. At the same time, he circled the Midwest as a DJ, spinning primarily pitched-up, pornographic-themed dance music. He became known for his mixing as much as for his track selection -- he would rarely let his tracks play out for longer than two or three minutes.

Franki Chan is one of the leaders of the indie DJ movement in the USA, is an accomplished illustrator and he is the owner of IHEARTCOMIX, a lifestyle brand that encompasses a record label, an event production company, a popular blog, and a marketing/promotion company, among other things. As a DJ, FRANKI has traveled the world, rocking dance parties from east to west and sharing the turntables with the best of the best, helping to influence a whole new generation of DJs.In addition to DJ'ing, FRANKI has began releasing a series of mix tapes, including one for SCION, IHEARTCOMIX Remixed. SCION produced 500,000 of these (essentially shipping gold) to be handed out for free. He is also focusing a lot of his time on his record label, IHEARTCOMIX RECORDS, which has current and upcoming releases by Matt & Kim, Protokoll, Ocelot, The Toxic Avenger, HEARTSREVOLUTION, Juiceboxxx, Totally Michael, Acid Girls, Roxy Cottontail, and Dreamburger.

Heartsrevolution( IHEARTCOMIX)

Boy/girl (Ben & Lo) electro thrash duo originally from LA, but recently relocated to NYC. After two sold out self released limited edition vinyl singles the duo have expanded their discography working with iheartcomix records of LA (C.Y.O.A! 12" remix single, & Switchblade EP) , all to be released in 2008. Title track on switchblade, "Switchblade," leads where "C.Y.O.A." ends – immediate keys from a synth bounce idle bodies off seats, leading to a rich dream-like experience. Lush layers of sound make "Digital Suicide" a cinematic listen that encourages an overdose of repeat plays. On "Wolves and Libertines," Lo's vocals are a shredding guitar to Ben's digital instrumentation, reminiscent to early `80s hardcore punk. "Ultraviolence" screams urgency of the unknown – be careful. "Digital Suicide (Lullaby)" reworks its original sound into the final chapter of Switchblade EP, using an arrangement that promises dreams to come.

Also playing on the night, we have Vaneska, Circle Research, Butter&Tonic,Mr Maqs and Rob Wildecat!
