showed up around 1 and was treated to a seriously banging (and extended) set from mr. porter. he seemed to have us wrapped around his fingers. man of the match performance... 10/10!
such a great vibe at fw as usual and saw a few familiar faces -- you know who you are.
perhaps someone can comment on the earlier sets as i was a tad late :/ |

Ok got there fairly early cuz i was expecting a huge line. Luckily there wasnt one and Aleksandra was dropping some great beats inside. The place started to fill up pretty quickly and then Evan came on. His set was rocking and got the crowd going and ready for Porter. The vibe in Footy was amazing, everyone having fun, drinking and dancing like crazy. Porters set was prolly my set from an international dj all year! I literally dont think i sat down once. Overall awesome nite with some sik djs and great friends!
Highlight of the nite: being outside having a smoke when some random chick and her friends get in line then point at the building and ask "what is this?" They are told its Footwork and she says "is that like a club or something?" they tell her yes and she gets back in line. 2 seconds later she starts complaining that its house music and that she doesnt want house music but she cant get into any other club because of insurance policies on footwear and her footwear is deemed unsafe (um she was wearing heels.... :rolleyes: ). Then she goes off on some 5 min rant about going home and writing nasty emails to club owners and insurance people and the newspaper and that she is going to look up past court cases to back herself up.... lmao um ok :haha: |

FUN!!!!!!!!!!
So we got there at 12:33 (3 minutes short of guestlist, as if they are that strict about it :( ) and Evan G was spinning. We went in... I kinda tried to dance, but I wasnt really feeling the music, and well... he looked half asleep. I waited outside until Steve Porter came on...
I believe he came on around 1:30 and for the next 3.5 hours I was completely Porterfied. Bouncy, groovy, banging, wild FUN! Every muscle in my body hurts today. There are no other words to use but pure, fun, party tunage... never ending beats that kept me smiling. By the end it was all I could do to keep moving... but taking a few minutes to sit and catch my breathe was like punishment. I think all of us on the dance floor had sense of accomplishment when he finished. He was a nice fresh sound in the Toronto scene and I hope he comes back soon.... I want MORE... New York trip?? ;)
Other things:
-The place filled up quickly around 1 but then seemed to really empty out fast around 2-2:30... but no complaints, more dancing room for me :D
- Crowd was decent, some interesting folks as well, but that adds to the fun I suppose
- If you are going to get up on the speakers to dance... you better DANCE... however on the same note I came to see Porter spin, not some chick dance off beat... SO GET OFF!!
- Omg Matt you are too funny.
- So nice seeing familiar faces and meeting a few new ones. I had fun with you all <3

Fun night, I haven't really been out since Canada Day! Good to see so many people, many TAs were out last night;) The music was great, but he lost me a couple times...It was just slightly too happy for me, but I did really enjoy most of his set when I was inside!
Feeling slightly under the weather today, so another nap is needed lol |

What a rockin night! Steve always delivers and his mixing is so ing wicked.
