Question about exporting in ableton

So I'm pretty much a complete noob at this whole production thing, so this might be a really dumb question. I have a track completed in ableton which I spent a while on tweaking eq's and volume settings to try to get everything to sound good together, but when I export the track to wav and try to listen to it on windows media player the sounds are off, with some sounds being quieter than they should be, and others too loud. The result is that my "final product" sounds much tier than it does when I just push play and listen to it in ableton. I tried it in winamp and got the same result.

I have the eq's set flat on WMP, so that shouldn't be the problem. Do any of you guys know what might be going on? I'm using Live 7.0.2 and widows vista.

more than likely you're listening it at way higher volumes in ableton then in Winamp. you should get use to auditioning ur mix at many diff volume levels to get all the sounds in the right spots :)
