Thanks for the post mate! Sounds like a wicked set so far....
I will certainly miss seeing Sander on the terrace at Space.... after what went down at WMC this year he will never return there.
What a shame to lose such a talented terrace DJ like that! |

Sander has played A LP's clubs since then. He will be on the terrace in '09. Nobody else is going to pay him that much for a gig in Miami. |

No he hasn't. He hasn't played Miami since WMC. You obviously were not there on the terrace at around noon when it all went down during WMC (I was). Here is what went down...
As alot of you WMC Space enthusiasts know, Sander typically plays his marathon set until close during WMC @ The Space Terrace. (4pm)
Well this year there were a culmination of things happening at around 12 noon that led to his immediate removal from the club by security at that time. Sander wanted to continue playing and was really feeling the crowd. The vibe was strong and the music was off the chain. (One of the better WMC sets I've heard)
At 11:30 or so, he was told that another production group "Matinee Group" was booked to handle the 12-4pm slot. This really upset Sander as he wanted to continue playing through the afternoon and the crowd was 100% expecting that. Soon there after there were technical difficulties with the sound system cutting in and out (very unusual for Space as their Dynacord Alpha system is top notch and one of the best in the World IMHO) Sander was getting more and more frustrated and started unplugging to find out what was going wrong (security and Luis Puig stepped in and started yelling at Sander not to unplug anything) Sparks ignited and Luis and Sander started pushing each other in the booth and security guards carried Sander out of Space.
He not only didn't finish his set on the terrace, but he also was booked by Space the next day (Sunday) for the closing pool party @ The Surfcomber and did not play that event. People in Miami that know Sander personally have said that he has confirmed that he will never again play for Luis Puig or play Space Miami again.
I will miss the WMC terrace marathons Sander!!! |

My mistake on the dates. Sander played Cameo in Feb of 08, I could've sworn that was in April. Time flies.
But your story is a little far fetched from what actually happened. Sander was not carried out of the club. :rolleyes: |

Escorted out against his will? Is that better? Dude I was standing in front of the booth when it happened. (we had a VIP table in the DJ VIP) |
