STOKED!!! I'll be at the game tonight to watch Manny tear up "The Big Unit."
Can a lifetime .312 avg and 510 homeruns possibly be a bad thing? And no one compare him to Andruw Jones. Manny is batting .299 with 20 homers and 68 RBIs this year. He can only make us better. Plus we got him for nothing! |

He can catch most of the time and he can throw pretty well. And Mr. Jones has 10 gold gloves. Lot of good that's done for us this year. Manny at this point this year leads the Dodgers in all offensive catagories. As far as being arrogant...what better place for him than LA:) |

a true dodger fan will like this even more because we basically gave up nothing to get him, plus the sox will pay his salary for the rest of the year. finally the gm does something right, although from what i hear he had little to do with the deal.
big series this weekend, wish i could be at the ball park.
plus, this guarantees that jones will sit on the bench. do you know that andruw jones was on pace to have one of the top (or is it bottom)worst years in baseball history for a full time player? amazing; worst signing ever.

I don't really watch baseball even though I do understand how the game works. But what really have caught me in this thread is when you guys said "they got Manny for nothing", how is that so? And is he really that great? How did the sox give him up just like that?
I'm just curious... and yes go Dodgers! |

They gave up one of their 4 3rd basemen and a minor league pitcher. Red Sox are paying his salary for the rest of the season. That's pretty much nothing. And he IS that good. He's getting older but he's one of the best right handed hitters in the last 40 years. A shoe-in for the hall of fame. He has a strange quirky attitude, but nothing damaging to a team. He adds a fun little flare to the Dodgers. He certainly hasen't hurt the Red Sox the past 4 years. Plus he thrives in adversity. I put $20 bucks on him hitting a homer today:)

yes, what Reese said above. Manny has more Runs batted in than any other player in Baseball since 1995.
It's an exciting day in Dodger history today, thats for sure. |

| Manny is a good player and will just be a great addition to the team. Fun to have some heavyweights on the roster and for such a sweet deal! |
