If you go to Video section there is footage of his performance at Guvernment. Quality sucks, but considering it's one of his 2 or 3 videos available there(the other one is from Gatecrasher), I have to asssume that he compares Guvernment to Gatecrasher !!

wow, that's wierd... i just think he loves comming to Toronto... he always looks like he's having a wicked time when he's here.

If AVB is liking Toronto I've got no problem with that. He's a world-class DJ, whose skills I like very much. I don't know, but I think he brings a good vibe with him.:toocool:

BTW, i found myself in that vid, you too Trancearmada :eyespop: ;)

Wow, I can't believe he's comparing Guv to Gatecrasher and Godskitchen. It just sounds so weird. I guess Guv is not too far off the map now. This is great.

I was watching the videos and can't help but notice how small Gatecrasher is. I've been told it's really small and Guv is actually bigger. From watching the videos, it looks like Guv has a nicer setup and it's probably true. I was pretty disappointed by Gatecrasher.

I still can't wait to go to Gatecrasher maybe next year. It's gonna be a party!! but until then I'm looking at Guv at a different light.
I can't believe it that it seems like only Special K and I like the Guv here on this board.

Just because armin lists guvernment as somewhere he want's to go doesn't mean he's saying the guv is that caliber of club. Haven't you all heard dj's talk about how that WANT to play south america, or other 3rd world nations. Oakenfold WANTED to play cuba, and china, but I'm sure the clubs there weren't anything on the big europe clubs. Something to think about anyway.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Guvernment is better than Gatecrasher. The only reason Gatecrasher is so popular is cause they always bring amazing DJs. If Guvernment was having 6 hours sets by Picotto, Tiesto, PVD and such on a regular basis, it would be known just as well as Gatecrasher.
Special K
the only reason half of those places (cream, gatecrasher, godskitchen, slinky etc etc) are so popluar is because of HYPE!!! You know just because a magazine like Mixmag or Ministry says that a club or is good it does not really mean that it actually is...the UK holds all of the marketing in this type of music so of course their clubs and their djs are going to be the best...meh whatever...!!!

having never been to guvernment, but being British I have attended Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Cream, MoS and such. The well-established dance music scene in the UK has had 10-12 years of continuous growth and evolution to produce seven or eight 'superclubs'. These clubs operate on providing high calibre DJs on a regular basis and attempt to influence (and react to) the latest trends in music. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the venue is some kind of paradise with leather armchairs in the chillout room etc. The buildings themselves are quite dated and the sound systems aren't always the best in the world...but for consistency of ripping nights, week in week out, several nights a week, several top-name djs a night: the only place you will find anything 'better' (see: aesthetically pleasing) is on the White Isle that is Ibiza. But if you're looking for a doseage of trance there, forget it! Ibiza is a 'trendy' place and after trance peaked in Europe a few years ago Ibiza wanted to find something new.

Soooo....for those of you who expect GC and GK to amaze you when u go there, don't get your hopes up. The night will almost always be very high quality, but there are certainly more modern and technologically enhanced venues across the globe. As for guvernement: i haven't made it west since i arrived in Nova Scotia 6 months ago so i can't comment. But DJs usually enjoy a venue with an up-fot-it crowd/capable equipment and decent sound-system. All of which i suspect the Guvernment has!
