Im feeling very frustrated over my drum sounds I am working with right now. Looking for some suggestions as far as drum packs. Honestly price doesnt matter as this is the foundation of my style.

Any vst's or even hardware that anyone recommends?! I guess the main thing im looking for is the clarity and roundness of the notes.

Thanks in advance!!!

Obviously, the vengance samples are popular, but if you want to make drum sounds, you could try something like the Korg EMX which allows you to synthesize you own sounds (and is great for programming too). Check youtube for demos.

Otherwise, sample drum sounds you like from records you love and cut the samples up. It sounds like a pain but most of the time it works out great.

the EMX is indeed extremely fun to make music with but the results only get semi-good. its pretty powerfull but sounds also cheap and muddy. i had it and sold it.

noob question forthcoming. can someone tell me where "sample packs" and "sound libraries" get installed in able to be used in ableton? do they have a special program that does that or can they be assigned to any instrument/added to existing libraries? thanks again.

Interesting that Zombie0729 just started a thread on manuals... that's rude. Sorry. You can install them anywhere, technically, and use the navigator on the left hand side to find it then set it as the root, or you can dedicate a folder for samples - I have a folder that I use for everything and set that as the root in my Ableton template, so it is there all the time. Just use the navigator on the left hand side (where the plugins and such are) by pressing the 1, 2, or 3 button and you should be set.
