I hated that one. The version in UT99 just had so much more personality to it - just like all the tracks in '99. The 2k4 version just sounded so bland in comparison.
'99 just had the best music of the series overall. It had some great breaks tracks, industrial, dnb and some crazy early 90s style trance with acid riffs. The other UTs were just generic 'soundtrack' music (save for a few exceptions).

Always fantastic. My favorite MM tracks were all from the X series, specifically 1 2 and 3 on the SNES.
... but then, I have an intellevision sitting about 5 meters from my computer chair. :stongue:

the original unreal had some great stuff in it too. i used to have a save i kept because of the music in a particular spot so i could load and listen when i wanted :D
and can i just say that 'impossible mission' ing lived up to its title. brutal. easily the hardest game ive ever played. i'd like to meet anyone that finished it.

All games back then were ing impossible.
But yeah... that one was ridiculous. I barely made it anywhere in that game...

haha
Yeah unreal had some great tracks too - produced by the same guy I believe. You know, it's really easy to convert those utm files to mp3s. :p

It makes me happy to see others representing the C64. :)
And, my mom and dad both beat Impossible Mission, FYI. My mom also beat Maniac Mansion on the C64. It took her 3 hours with a complete walkthrough (no saving!) My parents are bigger gaming geeks than I.
R-Type on the C64 had PHENOMENAL music.

Well... after the C64 talk, I searched for some other vids. And I can across this one...
I was never able to beat Zak McKraken though. But, I think there was something wrong with my game. 'Cause I watched a speedrun of that and there was a part where he did something and the thing that happened after never happened for me. Haha!
