So, I just bought an Olympus Stylus SW 1030 10.1MP camera, and so far I love it.
However, I am allowed to return it within 14 days, so I am considering this a trial period. I am wondering what other cameras people have, what they like about them, what kind of perks they have, and how much they cost.
I chose mine because it can go underwater up to 33 feet, which to me (an avid snorkeler), is an incredible perk. It can also be dropped from 6.6 feet, can operate in -14F and can withstand 220lbs on it. Its durability is valuable when you are taking it around rock climbing, snorkeling, etc. etc.
Pictures taken with new camera to be uploaded soon.

I suppose I should have mentioned that this camera also takes video, and doesn't have a lame time limit on it... so long as your memory card has space, you can record.
I took soooooo many pictures already, but I am too tired to upload them right now.

| so, if you like it, it does exactly what you want, and you are happy with it, why would you change it? |

I researched the options, but you can't really tell if you are going to enjoy a product until you have used it. I mean, if there is something better out there, or someone has found that the 850SW or something else is higher quality etc. I would like to know. |

I've owned two Olympus cameras and I ing hate them. In fact I rage threw one of them against the wall it got so frustrating, let me explain.
I don't know what it is (mind you these cameras are kind of old and not really new like yours) they ate battery's like crazy, they shut off randomly, quality of the pictures is kind of . limited settings and the fact that one of them can only be operated by an LCD screen is awful.
I thought they were the for the first 2 months of owning them and after that I was really wanting to switch to a more trusted brand in cameras and actually save up for a decent one.
Problem is, you want to do a lot of crazy with your camera so it's gonna be hard to find one that can live up to that stress. good luck I don't really have any recommendations.
However my final 2c is this: do a load of googling on that camera and make sure it's not canned down the road & try to stay away from Olympus! |

Seems like it... but have I tried every camera out there? Do I know the capabilities/qualities of all cameras? Nope. Maybe there is something else that I would like better.
You don't know what you're missing until you have tried it.
Besides... with my new found interest in cameras, their stats etc. I would like to talk about it.
So talk about cameras or stfu :p

exactly, so you've found one you like but you still want to change it to one you haven't used and might hate?
btw I have an Olympus and am satisfied with it, it doesn't chew through battery like crazy, I've dropped it god knows how may times and it still works, I'm happy with the photos it takes, it doesn't randomly shut itself off, I find it easy enough to use the menus |

I have had the camera for not even a full 2 days. I don't know how it will be in the long term, and replies such as r5a and your comment just now about your camera, can really help with figuring out if the purchase was worth it. |
