Goody! Another piece of software that lazy producers will use as a preset factory as they flood the music world with their disposable garbage. |

Though i must say programming pad presets is my favourite so i probably won't be buying this... and the price tag:eyespop:. |

Oh, I'm sure it does. I was just referring to the fact that (like Atmosphere) it has lots of stuff that sounds really nice right off the bat, so it's a boon for lazy producers. |

i've been saving up for this one. I've always been a huge atmosphere fan. This plugin will be crazy with it's 35gigs of sounds. |

Awesome, so are they selling a download version?
Realistically, who has 35 gig just lying around? And who has that much money? I think this thign sounds absolutely brilliant, and I wish that companies would make presets in quality similar to this, but I really think Spectrasonics should shift their attention away from trying to impress people with the ridiculous amounts of space their instruments take up. Surely it would be easier to just build a really flexible soft synth and then create a bunch of presets for it to have sounds similar to omnispheres?
I think we all know that really, the massive size requirements are all about preventing piracy, not about sound quality. Its probably the most effective anti piracy solution possible but while I support that, I won't buy it simply because I don't have that much space. |

I don't know if it's about piracy or not. But 35GB of sounds for about 450Euro is damn cheap compared to your average sample cd (about 10Euro per 100MB usually).
I think their quality/performance/price ratio is unrivaled. Fanboy alert :). The usability of the sounds delivered by spectrasonics is superb as well and personally their plugins have always been amongst my favourites. I expect nothing less from Omnisphere :). |

Ditto. And, while Omnisphere will no doubt have a huge library of presets, it's obviously going to be very programmable.
FYI - Storyteller, Spectrasonics has indicated that there will be a a discount for registered Atmosphere owners, so we may not need to save very much. ;) |

I had some time with it back in the day :) and use the cracked versions a lot with friends. No discount for me I'm afraid. It will be my first spectrasonics plugin. |

Though I'm sure there will lots of presets, that will be heard in a big number of tracks - the real fun of this, will be the huge number of never-heard-before sounds. Which can be combined with others, and processed in such a way, that the end result will be original still. Plus it has all the good stuff (and not so good) from atmosphere. I'm going to buy this for sure. |

You can even specify the samples for both the carrier and modulator in FM synthesis. Now, that's probably going to be more suited for the 'noise band' types, but who knows, there could be a good combination.
Just thought I'd add that. |
