fl does look weak compared to most of the sequencers / software studios, but all the skins i've seen have been a lot worse. including the one on the first post, just awful..

a light colored abletonish design would be cool

I don't mind at all how fl looks. I actually think it looks quite alright. I'm tired of it's way of doing stuff though, so I'm just occasionally having a go with it these days. And I agree, there is no skin - that I have seen yet, at least - that looks better than the stock one.
