um, no one is getting hooked on crack from cocoa puffs unless they blaze 3-4 times an hour, all day, every day. weak story to stir up paranoia (and they didn't even seize any crack!)
|
That's the way I take that article. Good ol' media making up to scare people. Honestly what dealer would mix crack with weed when they are trying to make money. Makes no sense.
Yes you should NEVER buy weed of some guy at the corner of Wellsley and Yonge. Not becuase there its crack laced but because you get ty counts and sometimes ripped off completely by getting a bag on pine needles (yes i've been there .. lol). |

crack is pretty cheap. its usually about $10 for a vial.
there are a few rocks in a vial and they can be crushed down in to powder and probably sprinkled over 1/4oz of pot (which is a small investment when your customer keeps coming back while scratching their neck). its simple to make too. 1:1 of cocaine and baking soda over a stove. melt it then throw some ice in it to cool it down. the solution will separate and form crack. |

If anyone is interested, Cocaine Cowboys 2 literally gives step by step instructions (both visual and written text on the screen) as to how to make it at home! I was baffled when I saw it. |

those papers are cool and all but i wonder if it has any bad effects on your lungs. smoking anything is bad enough but what if the cellulose gets your lungs all gummed up? |

I saw the first movie a while ago and hadn't yet decided whether I'd watch the second. But what the hell? Why not? I'll give this one a go. I really enjoy (good) documentaries about illicit drugs and, so, I'm looking forward to this one. |

I grabbed the RKc release a few seconds after responding to Lisa's post. |

its about how miami became the cocaine/murder capital back in the 80s.
its my favourite documentary aside from the BBC stuff.
edit: this is what it says on the back cover of my cocaine cowboys....
the cocaine trade of the 70s and 80s had an indelible impact on contempory miami. smugglers and distributors forever changed a once sleepy retirement community into one of the worlds most glamorous hot spots, the epicenter of a $20 billion annual business fed by columbia's medellin cartel. by the early 80s, miami's tripled homicide rate had made it murder capital of the country, for which a Time cover story dubbed the city "paradise lost". |
