Does it honestly make you feel better to call someone names? If it does then you have some serious problems. It's a ing opinion. Get over it. |

First of all, who the do you think you are calling somebody a retard (of all things) for voicing their opinion? Awesome choice of words!
My opinion:
VENUE - It was lame. The venue sucked ass for this type of event. The sound was only good right in front of the speakers and dealing with the crowd in those areas was unbearable. Central Park was a million times better because there was more room horizontally. Trips to the bathrooms and to get drinks were a PAIN IN THE ASS. We eventually just migrated to the back for easier access to these areas but the sound was horrible in the back. I agree that scenery was awesome.......watching the sun set behind the stage was amazing.....but that was the only positive thing I got out of this venue.
Paul's set - It was ok. Nothing very special. I've def experienced much better performances out of Paul in the past. He played some great tracks but also some ones that made me wanna cringe. You could tell he was trying to do some pretty cool stuff with the music but it just didn't work because of the bad sound. The highlight of his set for me was Murder was the Base.....I could hear this track every time I went out and it would still get me dancing.
Overall I had a great time because when it comes down to it, I only go out to hang out with my friends and that's what makes it a good night. It was my girlfriend's first PVD in NY experience and she had a great time.......if only I could rewind time and show her what Central Park was like lol. PVD always brings everybody out and it was awesome seeing some people I have not seen in a LONG TIME. I have to say that getting to hang out with Sergio made the night so much more enjoyable......and holy , I flipped the out when I saw Michi and Dani.....totally surprised the out of me.......and it made my night seeing you guys there!!! CHEESEBURGER MOTHERA :haha: :eyes: :haha:
oh and I hope Made Events gets their Central Park permit back for next year....... |
+1 on the venue opinion..i said the same thing and i tried to stay as far back as i could..i ended up in the middle of the crowd about 15 feet back from the pair of speakers in the middle of the pier..back by the porta pottys u couldnt hear dick..when i left and was on 10th ave i heard exactly what he was playing..lasers were dope..oh yea and wtf was up with banging it out and then slowing it down tremendously..i thought he was trying to be Armin for a second and pretend he was closing haha..and Stan..where the hell were you haha |

There was a full ing moon.
I had a great time. The music was solid, the lights were pretty but it was a beautiful night to be OUTSIDE. I think this is what kept me happy most of the night. |

| Saw the pics. I'm assuming the wind carried the sound out of the pier? Especially since the water is right there, it must have been windy as hell. Outdoor parties are usually teh lose. |

yeah ppl were telling me that ALL night....so much for TMobile/Blackberry reliability :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: I actually *DID* get ur text telling me you guys were at the back on the left side but it was a MESS with all of us being in the center of madness, it was fun with all the NYTAs around, but other than that, it was getting progressively more crowded as the night went on, along with two guys dancing with a flag and grinding up against ppl :whip:. I honestly couldnt tell HOW far we were from either side of the venue and as it got dark, could not see a SINGLE thing. In fact Drew had gone halfway back (camera tent)sometime during the evening, and it was 9pm when I finally decided to try to squirm thru the crowd to go meet up with him. I somehow totally OVERSHOT the camera tent and ended up way past the portapotties toward the back. didnt find him till almost 930pm. lol
yeah CP > Pier 54. I hope that next yr he will be there. |

Best part of my night?
Seeing people i haven't seen in years.
Personal opinion of the Dyk? No too impressed, he's done A LOT better in the previous years but i guess we can't always expect the same. It seems like i got in the EDM scene right before it went down the tubes. I don't hear the same kind of tunes that used to give me that natural high, that made was wanna break the ground beneath me but nothing stays the same. Maybe things will bounce back after a couple of years but yeah, i think that night was a big waste of my time and money beside the fact that i saw a lot of old friends and i'm happy to know that not a lot but ALL of you remember me, but i could of set something up with you guys to hang out with you at a bar or somethin'. well, until we meet again friends, the PVD @ CP alliance was good while it lasted. |

Did anyone notice the kayakers once it was dark? There were a whole bunch of them chilling in the same area as the Jet Skier.
The sound up front was great. In the middle/back it was awful.
I had to make my way to the front/center of the "dance floor" 3 times. You just have to cut through the people. em! It was mellow once you got up there.
The laser show was interesting.
Honestly, most of the time I had my back to PvD.. I like watching the people while I dance.
I would do it again.
...The afterparty was cool as well. Ended early at 5:30am though :( |

For me, as many people said, it's the crowd that makes a party for me more than the music and the DJ. Unfortunately in this case, with such a narrow venue, the crowd made it unbearable. I almost passed out like 6 times (from exhaustion, being too hot, and other things) so I kept stumbling to the back to cool off... my fat ass bumped into SO many people cause there was no clear path to get where i was going. I even spilled some girls beer all over her, then shrugged and kept walking. So yeah... i was not too happy wit the venue and the crowd density.
buying drink tickets was such a dumb idea imo. it made more lines and made the wait worse. they could have had more drink stands instead. blah.
as for PVD's set, i enjoyed the last 2 hours. I thought, as someone said earlier, that he played New York City way too much. 3 times? come on yo. I also thought it was ridiculous that he would drop the music so people would sing the words to different songs out loud, but the crowd as a whole didnt even know the freaking words. I thought that was just sad.
but again, 8-10 for me was pretty dope. especially organic. HIYA!!!!!! love that track.
last year was definitely waaaay better. He started hard and never let up from what I remember. This year was kinda meh but I still had a great time cause I was with good peoples and kept seeing good peoples as I wandered around.

Best part of the night was playing frogger over the west side highway, and getting through that man made hole in the fence.

The Venue was kinda cool, but too narrow. The crowd was way to big for such a venue, i dont think made was prepared for having that many people. I was up front in the beginning, i left and i couldnt come back to the same spot. It was just that crowded.
They had pretty good food i must say.
PVD's set was definitely different. A lot of good tracks, i didnt understand why he just slowed down in the first half to like 120 bpm's from building it up.....
A lot of surprising tracks like beautiful things or As the rush comes. Anybody with a full track list? I was looking forward to hearing 1 track that i remember from his Miami set but i dont know the name, i know it was basically right before ATRC.
I had a very good time, but it wasnt the best.
I am very dissapointed that i missed Matt Darey, i always wanted to see him
I agree with the sound, it was good up front, but tier in the back, but what can you do with such open space you know. |
