Pretty much all of the file-sending programs are blocked here. I used to have an external Internet line here, but it was recently disconnected.
Now I can only download sets that are "properly hosted". :( I'll have to try to remember and download it at home. I do all my set listening here at work though. |

So the flow of the first four tracks is ace - really, really well done, but the section from "Real Thing" to "Disco Bus" almost had me giving up on this one. It just felt very disjointed and odd - but I have to admit, it didn't really bother me until "Disco Bus" came in. I heard it and just cringed so hard - absolutely cannot stand that track anymore, and thought it came out of nowhere in this set.
Thankfully the recovery from it was incredibly well done - well done enough to make me forget about how little I liked that section. The end of this set is what I would expect from you, Denys - really, really well put together progressive/chunky house (I don't know how else to describe it - it feels chunky to me, a good kind of chunky). It really isn't that proggy, but the flow of it feels solid, and definitely gets to "hands in the air/do we have more drugs to do?" techno by the end.
Basically this one was a bit like a sandwich that was made on the most baller, thick bread I could possibly imagine, and had relatively little " meat" - thin sliced. We're talking bread so good that you'd actually go back and eat a sandwich on it again because it's that ing good.

LOL!
I guess the point of Disco Bus was to do exactly what you talked about but on the other side of the spectrum. Not like "ohh , wtf is this and why is it here?" but more like "ohh , where did this come from, hey baby want to do a line of coke off my penis now?"
I see where you're coming from, it all comes down to taste and just how enough you've had of the tune already. If this is your first time experiencing the Disco Bus ride, your interest might be peaked. If you've already ridden the Disco Bus numerous times, did keg stands on it, and puked upon getting off - it's a bit of a different experience.
Chunky is a good word, gonna have to use that. Wonderful review, thanks for listening :) |
