What else do I need?

Im still pretty new to producing. I'd say its only been about 2 years. Currently I've just been using FL studio and some plugins I happen to run across.

The thing is, I notice that most others have all this other equipment that they use. Mainly what Im talking about is stuff outside the computer. I have no idea what any of this stuff is and obviously don't know what it does. Im not just talking midi keyboards either. I think I've heard someone saying they had a moog something or another. Do I need stuff like that? Is it Hella expensive? :conf:

Please someone help me out.

If you don't know what something is or does, why would you need it?

You don't really _need_ much anyway - if what you have is working for you, then you don't need anything more.

I guess you're right. I am just curious. I'd just like to know why some people want stuff like that. It doesn't hurt to know what kind of stuff it could do. Otherwise Im not letting myself know what I could be capable of.

Well yeah, it's always nice to know the options you have.

As for Moog:

Start off as cheaply as possible, until you're sure you're going to put in the years of hard work. Along the way you'll come across/ hear about various pieces of software and hardware and develop a feeling about what will and won't take you forward in your productions.

There are many fantastic producers who use wildly different gear from each other. It's all about how that gear combines and works for you and your personal style. Maybe one of the Moog synths will be perfect for your productions. Maybe not. Keep working on your sound, on your style, finding out about other software and hardware tools and adding pieces when you feel the time is right.
